I am a pediatric neuropsychologist with extensive experience in providing culturally sensitive and trauma informed developmental and neuropsychological evaluations to children and adolescents with a wide range of concerns, including neurodevelopmental conditions (e.g., attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, autism spectrum disorder, learning disorder), acquired brain injuries, and emotional and behavioral challenges (e.g., mood and impulse control disorders).

Autism is not a medical condition needing "treatment." Rather, it is an opportunity to work intensively on personal growth starting with the child's diagnosis, and then extending to the family, the professionals, schools, communities and finally the governments.

What I hope to offer you is a sincere and unapologetic approach to therapy and testing that is inclusive and culturally informed. I primarily work with adolescents, adults, and older adults, providing individual and couples therapy. My goal is to provide a safe environment where we can explore your lived experience within the context of identity, culture, and social context. I have experience helping people work through concerns including depression, anxiety, trauma, lifestyle changes, identity exploration, health problems, or just feeling “stuck”. I am also committed to maintaining an environment affirming of intersecting cultural identities, with an emphasis on social justice, anti-racism, anti-colonialism, and promotion of LGBTQIA+ and sex positive values.

In my practice I see clients of all ages with a wide variety of concerns. I practice from a person-centered approach, which means that your goals are my goals and we will work on them together. I offer individual and family psychotherapy as well as psychological testing. Within this practice I want to help you or your child make positive changes in life to reduce struggle. I create a warm, nonjudgmental environment that allows you to have the space to explore various solutions and find what works best for you. I am passionate about working with individuals with autism spectrum disorder and other neurodevelopmental disabilities and supporting their families as they navigate home, school, and community. I believe strongly that our goal should never be to "cure" the individual with autism or make them fit the world but rather to help them be their most successful self by providing education, support, and accommodations as necessary. I also believe that a one-size-fits-all approach does not work, and each individual and family should be provided with supports that are tailored to them and are evaluated regularly as they grow and develop.

Parents: You want the best for your child, but you don't know what to do to help him or her. Your child did not come with an owner's manual. You don't need blame, you need help! I understand that a child's behaviors serve a purpose, and we work together to eliminate the need for the behaviors or to fulfill the need in healthier ways. And if the problem isn't that serious? Well, coaching may be better for your child than therapy--we work on strategies to improve behavior or schoolwork or whatever your concern is.

I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and a Credentialed Health Service Provider in Psychology. I provide services individualized for every client. These services are available in-office or via telehealth. I accept most insurance plans. I provide mental health services to individuals, couples, and families. My therapy specialties include trauma, anxiety disorders, and depressive disorders. As a US Marine combat veteran, I also enjoy providing services tailored to veterans.
