I am an experienced licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. My focus lies with couples,individuals, adolescents, and families. I'm an experienced therapist with a masters degree in psychology and a doctorate in marriage and family therapy. I worked closely with children with autism one-on-one for about 6 years, which reinforced my interest in getting my Bachelors of Art in Psychology from UNLV. I later went on to graduate with a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from the UNLV, and am a state registered Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I am trained in EMDR, a well known and respected trauma related therapy. EMDR has also been successful in treating a wide variety of issues, such as anxiety and OCD.

Intercultural relationships often pop-up while traveling the globe and looking for excitement and romance. That is how my husband and I stumbled into our intercultural marriage some 37 years ago..... and stumble we definitely did. It is the differences that are so attractive that can become so problematic as time goes on. We had no common language between us and knew no one who believed our marriage stood a chance of survival. The children quickly came and reality hit hard! 26 yrs in MH and nothing in the field has felt so strenuous, exhilarating and worthwhile as couples therapy.

Working with adults and couples to help them overcome their difficulties, handle their grief, work on skills to handle their symptoms, and/or process their trauma, with compassion and empathy, is my goal. I believe in the importance of building a supportive and therapeutic relationship with each client to address their individualized needs, incorporating DBT and mindfulness-based stress reduction in my practice.
