Clients include people suffering from Depression or Anxiety, Couples going through relationship issues, those struggling with Addiction, and anyone else who needs to talk to someone.
Are you a working professional who feels like you should have it all “figured out” by now, and can’t understand why you’re not enjoying life? Or maybe you know why you’re unhappy, and need an outlet to express yourself and process through life's daily frustrations. You worry about burdening your friends or family with your problems (“They don’t need me to pile on.”), which results in holding it in and feeling alone. Together we explore what brings you to therapy, and work towards helping change what can be changed, and finding resolve with what can't. We also work to manage your reactions while seeking to understand your emotions.

I have had success helping people get through life transitions, relationship and depression difficulties, loss & grief, career development and change, eating disorders, and trauma.
I value the diversity in all human beings. For each client, I try to open my mind and heart to understanding your experiences as fully as possible - your strengths, difficulties, your desire for change. It's important to know the context of your life - how individual, familial, and societal influences impact your situation. I work toward helping clients make and find meaning in their choices, to build strength even in the face of adversity. I have a lot of compassion for people, and can accompany you with kindness through the sometimes painful journey of working through tough issues.

I've worked with clients addressing stressful life transitions, relationship challenges, domestic or intimate partner abuse, and grief. Clients have approached therapy with different levels of experience, including newcomers, returning after a break, or those mandated by court. Throughout these interactions, compassion, kindness, and self-acceptance have been consistent elements. I collaborate with clients right from the start, providing 15 to 30 minutes of consultation to listen to your concerns, address any questions, and offer referrals if I'm not the best match for your needs.

Experiencing painful feelings or distress in a relationship, work, in life, perhaps along with low mood or too much tension? I am interested in your story. It is natural to feel overwhelmed at times and it is not a sign of weak character to seek help. In a safe environment, as we explore the internal conflicts and patterns that get in the way of living fully, healing and change can result. Insight can also emerge from actions taken in life - what it is that you do and how you do it - and this is also explored in therapy.

Relationship Issues Therapists
While need for human connection appears to be innate, the ability to form healthy, loving relationships is learned. Some evidence suggests that the ability to form a stable relationship starts to form in infancy, in a child's earliest experiences with a caregiver who reliably meets the infant's needs for food, care, warmth, protection, stimulation, and social contact. Such relationships are not destiny, but they are theorized to establish deeply ingrained patterns of relating to others. The end of a relationship, however, is often a source of great psychological anguish.
