As your counselor, my goal is to provide a safe and non-judgmental place for you to process feelings, thoughts, and experiences. I use a person-centered approach and walk alongside you as we work towards your therapeutic goals. I strive to help children (age 10 and above), adults, and couples develop the tools needed to gain confidence in one’s ability, maintain healthy relationships, and successfully cope with life’s changes and challenges.

I specialize in providing compassionate counseling services tailored to the unique needs of tween and teen clients, recognizing the pivotal developmental stage they are in. While my expertise lies in this area, I also extend my inclusive approach to adults, creating a welcoming and safe environment for clients of all ages. I also work with children using play therapy techniques. My goal is to foster a therapeutic space where everyone can openly explore their thoughts and feelings, no matter their age, and embark on a journey of self-discovery and growth.

My ideal client is someone looking for a significant change in their life. They may struggle with past hurts, shame, isolation, trauma, low self image, resentment, self-hatred, depression, or anxiety. They need someone to listen and to provide a safe place free of judgement where they will be heard. Their goals might include finding freedom, seeing their situation in a new light, gaining hope, finding their voice, or integrating their life experience and their spirituality.

Maybe you are about to get married. Maybe you are in a relationship and haven't yet considered marriage. Maybe you've been married for 5, 13, even 35 years. Her dream was to create a place that any member of the community could turn to without fear of stigma or ridicule by creating a safe setting and discreet healing environment. Telehealth permits our team to work with all Missouri residents with their counseling needs. We offer executive coaching, life coaching, community talks, workshops and seminars, anger management, court-ordered services, parenting education. Dr. Baker is offering a Mental Health Urgent Care model in her practice for extreme traumatic needs to reduce wait time for a session.

To help you feel seen and heard in your relationships. I will help you to learn to manage the distressing emotions arising during conflicts with a loved one. With those seeking couples counseling we will work on avoiding defensiveness, criticism, contempt, and stonewalling. I will help you build an atmosphere of admiration and appreciation providing you with the tools to be able to reestablish the friendship and fondness that once drew you together.

Life can sometimes feel overwhelming, and relationships like a constant struggle. We have a knowledge that it wasn’t meant to be this way and feel compelled to take the first steps toward wholeness but sometimes don’t know where to begin. Emerge Counseling Ministries accepts clients 12 yrs and older in the state of Ohio and Missouri (telehealth only in MO). We help those in need of marriage, couples, families or individual counseling. We help clients deal with many different mental health conditions from relationship and school-related issues to more specialized mental health issues. I'm not your typical counselor... You won't find me busy looking at my notes and only paying attention half the time you're talking. My style is very conversational and I'll share about myself any time it's pertinent, or when asked. I don't believe in dragging counseling out because it's expensive so why waste your time and money? You've got a problem so let's get to fixing it! The bottom line is your quality of life: it's not where you want/need it to be, and it's my job to help you improve it. My primary office is in Springfield, MO with a secondary location in Chesterfield, MO a few days a week.

I look forward to working with clients whose life path may have created difficulties for them that has led them not be the best of who they can be. Each individual's path may have been sprinkled with physical or emotional abuse, neglect, assault, grief and loss, domestic violence, marital or parental discord or a myriad of other situations. Sometimes these life paths create in my clients a feeling of hopeless and loss of self-worth, sometimes these path end with someone needing to determine a plan to leave an unsafe living situation. Sometimes these paths lead to turning to substances and illegal drugs to cope with the internal turmoil and pain. It is my privlege to work with clients to help them identify and bring forth the best of who they are and what they want for their life, their family and their future through their own individual strengths.
