I work collaboratively with individuals with OCD, anxiety, phobias, tic, and BFRBs. I provide ethical and evidence-based services by immersing myself in continuing education and training led by up-to-date research in order to provide focused care for individuals with issues in these specific areas. It takes a great deal of bravery to walk into a therapist's office -and- research says working with a therapist is essential in successfully addressing these diagnoses. My role is to honor that bravery with care, acceptance, and options toward the changes you want to see.

We are a Neurofeedback facility In OKC, OK. Neurofeedback is a form of Biofeedback that measures brainwave activity. I am 1 of 4 certified practitioners in the Oklahoma City area. Our approach to Neurofeedback is that we all have the ability to change our lives. Many times it is not our lack of discipline or being unmotivated to change, but the fact that our brains get stuck in a cycle that does not allow us to regulate ourselves. We currently work with a wide range of individuals with issues related the Anxiety, OCD, depression, Trauma, concussions, Sports Performance-related issues as well as many others brain based issues.

My name is Cynthia Tobar-McCoy and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in New Mexico and Oklahoma. I am honored each day to walk along side individuals who choose to therapuetically journey through the path of overcoming life stressors. In my way of working with you, I lay my personal issues aside for our time together and give myself plenty of internal space to resonate with you on a gut level. As I hear your story in words I also hear it in feelings. A good therapist puts these two narratives together, the spoken one and the emotional one, in getting to an accurate understanding of you. When I merge this understanding with my training in psychology, which is extensive, I'm able to reflect purposefully with you about what might be wrong; about "how" you're hurting.

As a depth counselor, I assist clients who need deep healing from trauma, anxiety, depression, and other wounds to find wholeness in Self and relationships again. It takes a lot of courage to shine a light into the darkest places within, and to uncover and work with the roots of our pain. I truly believe even the most difficult symptoms hold gifts for us, and its my life's work to provide the space for my clients to face the scariest parts of being human, find those gifts, and turn the uncovered material into the stuff they need to move from surviving to actually thriving.

We all experience challenges and opportunities to grow and emerge stronger. I believe most humans instinctively move toward higher ground. Sometimes we need someone to walk alongside us who can help keep hope kindled and discover new, less painful, costly routes on the climb. I've had the privilege to journey with clients for over 25 years. My passion is working with those who've been marginalized or who experience themselves on the edges of community. At Brain & Life Renewal Center, I am 1 of 4 BCIA Certified Practitioners in the Oklahoma City area. Neurofeedback is a form of biofeedback that takes electrical impulses from the brain and creates a unique therapeutic protocol, based on the data received, to improve brain function. We can detect subtle electrical impulses from the brain by placing an electrode cap on the head. These electrical impulses are amplified, giving the Neurofeedback monitor the information needed to generate an individualized training program.

Life is pretty good about throwing us curve balls. Sometimes, these curve balls can be devastating.
