Starting therapy, particularly after an experience where you may have felt hurt, misunderstood, can be overwhelming. Especially, if trust has been broken or opening up to people can be difficult for you. You may find yourself feeling “something is just not right”, or “something feels off”. Of course there are a number of reasons why people start coming to therapy, but these phrases are ones I hear the most often. My hope if that through honesty, authencity, and humor I can build your trust to support you in this journey.

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who approaches therapy from a solution-focused and strength-based perspective. I provide clients with a place for meaningful collaboration of ideas in order to find short and long-term solutions to problems. I specialize in working with children, couples, and families dealing with transitions, divorce, trauma, depression and anxiety.  I have experience with children, couples and families. I am an adoption competent therapist, parent coach, and skilled in helping children and families navigate life changes and struggles.

I help humans who want to work on themselves, gain insight, and confidence through self discovery by giving them an open, accepting, non-judgmental environment where they can feel safe to resolve any challenges. Most of my experience comes from working in the areas of trauma, especially trauma from both sexual abuse, assault, and military related PTSD. Margaret Keig is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of Florida who has 11 years of experience collaborating with adults, teens, children, couples, and families seeking help with depression, anxiety, life transitions, trauma, addictions, grief and loss, relationship issues, and spirituality. She is a Premarital Course Provider in Orange County, FL. She has many years of experience with the LGBTQ community, including work in HIV/AIDS and with Gender Identity following the WPATH Standards of Care.
