In my practice, I integrate various therapeutic modalities, including depth psychology (unconscious mind), somatic (breathwork & meditation), and attachment theory, providing a relational framework for deeper understanding.
Alongside the general anxiety & depression issues that bring many to therapy, I’m passionate about supporting those experiencing loss. Whether grappling with the end of a relationship, the passing of a loved one, or the upheaval of a job loss; loss affects us all deeply. Often accompanying these losses is a sense of identity dissolution, which can be disorienting yet holds potential for profound personal growth. My therapeutic approach to relational loss is rooted in a trauma-informed lens, informed by my extensive exploration of grief.

Approaches I use include: Psychodynamic, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), CBT and DBT, and trauma-informed somatic.
I am passionate about helping clients reconnect with themselves and move forward after relationship issues or trauma with a sense of strength, self-confidence, and healthy coping skills. I work with individuals (ages 9+) and couples who are healing from a harmful event or relationship, struggling with a sense of self and satisfaction, or want to gain insight into themselves and their relationships. Together we can work toward more self-awareness, satisfaction, and stronger communication skills while decreasing the negative effects of stress and conflict.

In the past 5 years working with others, I skillfully use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Somatic Therapy, and Trauma-Focused Therapy.
With this nonstop world effecting each person differently, I enjoy working with others where they are in their lives and where they want to be. It is my honor to work and support people in their journey on finding who they are, where they want to be, making sense what is going on, and getting back to their values that supports their internal and external world. I adroitly work with adolescences and adults to effectively manager symptoms of addiction, depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, and impulsivity actions.

I offer a mind-body oriented approach, including EMDR, Brainspotting, and mindful-somatic awareness to help you rediscover that voice and learn to listen and trust it again.
You are committed to feeling better, you've tried everything, but still you feel lost in the pain. You've always been able to "fix" things in your life, why not this? This time, you feel stuck. Maybe you feel gripped by anxiety or panic. Maybe you feel consumed by grief from trauma or loss of a person, pet, or life dream. Maybe you're finding yourself in new life circumstances (a significant health challenge, life milestone, career or relationship change) and wonder "who am I now"? Life has a way of challenging us. There is a way through.

I utilize a variety of techniques, such as EMDR, grounding and meditation, somatic interventions, as well as talk therapy techniques such as CBT and DBT.
Do you always feel on edge? Did something traumatic happen? Trauma is a disruption to the nervous system that often creates patterns and loops that extend into many areas of a person's life. It can affect our bodies, our minds and the way we relate to other people. Sometimes the way people survive their trauma brings them more pain, adds to the chaos, and reinforces negative beliefs that perpetuate the cycle as well as causing other mental health issues grow- such as depression and anxiety. I work with people of various cultures, sexual orientations, and gender identities and know that trauma is non-discriminatory.

Welcome! My name is Iveth and I empower women to remove the mask they often wear to fit in, embrace their authenticity, heal self-worth and scarcity limiting beliefs so they can advocate for themselves and embody the most Confident and Empowered Woman that is already within them. I am a believer that our fears and uncomfortable feeling often keep us stuck, small, and abandoning our own needs and desires. Through somatic embodiment I guide my clients to release old wounds, learn to cope through difficult emotions, and develop the resilience to show up authentically and create the relationships they desire.

I'm a warm, affirming, somatic therapist who blends mind-body practices, EMDR, and Internal Family Systems to help you heal so you can build a more aligned life and relationships.
You want to be present, find ease, and fully enjoy your life and relationship but anxiety, trauma, and big transitions keep getting in the way. You've worked hard to create this life and your relationships. You do your best to "have it all together" for friends, family, colleagues, your partner. In the middle of all the roles, changes, and expectations you've lost yourself, disconnected from your needs, and lost track of your values and joy. Whether it is constant anxiety, imposter syndrome disconnection, or pain that keeps holding you back - you're just done living this way and ready to live more fully.

There are many paths to healing and change. The journey is an active one and there is success in simply taking the first step, acknowledging a change is needed. I have worked in mental health services since 1988 and have worked with many different people and issues. I believe that developing awareness, of emotions, thoughts and behavior, is the starting place and that understanding where we come from, what got us here can be helpful, but changing how we feel today is the best way to have a sense of power. I specialize in somatic, or a body based approach to treatment of trauma. Please call or email me for a therapy session today.

I use a combination of ACT(Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) which is a type of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Somatic Experiential (helps to tune into your body when you are numb/cut-off/or too much in your thoughts), Psychodynamic Experiential, Heart Rate Variance(HRV) biofeedback training, and Trauma Informed Mindfulness based skills.
I can help you discover and strengthen healthy boundaries, guide you to take action on your personal values and life goals, and teach you how to regain your emotional balance when life is working your last nerve. Be kinder to yourself, have greater patience with loved ones, your family of choice, friends and co-workers, and decrease the overwhelming sense of loneliness that you may have felt during this crummy pandemic.

I believe in whole mind and body healing, and offer nervous system regulation, ritual, and somatic healing.
Do you often feel anxious, sad, or resentful in relationships? Perhaps you believe you can’t have the relationships you want or find yourself asking “why does this keep happening to me?” You might have a pattern of choosing partners who are emotionally unavailable. You know something feels off, but you’re not exactly sure why or what to do about it. If any of these signs are familiar, it’s okay. It’s not your fault and you’re not broken. I work with women to resolve old trauma wounds and learn new ways of relating with themselves and others. My approach is both clinical and casual and my medicine is warm, funny and nurturing.

I graduated from University of Michigan, attended California Institute of Integral Studies and JFK University, and received my graduate degree in Somatic Psychotherapy from JFK.
I work with people who are struggling, and decide take the courageous step to ask for help. Many have a history of trauma and suffer from anxiety, depression, eating disorders, addiction, parenting challenges, sleep issues, sexual difficulties, chronic pain, relationship problems, and other post-traumatic responses. Also, present-day situations in our personal or collective worlds can be objectively hard to bear. Our experiences leave traces psychologically and somatically, so I use evidence-based, body-oriented, mindfulness techniques to address limiting patterns so that you can live more authentically today's challenging world.

Somatic Therapists

How does somatic therapy work?

Somatic therapy is a form of treatment that focuses on how the body and mind are interconnected. In this approach, physical symptoms are addressed because they may in fact signal emotional distress. Somatic therapists combine mindfulness, talk therapy, breathwork, yoga, dance, and physical manipulations of the body to help patients become more attuned to what their body is telling them.

Is EMDR a somatic therapy?

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a form of somatic therapy, as it incorporates mental and physical principles. EMDR involves remembering a traumatic experience while allowing one’s eyes to track a side-to-side visual stimulus from a therapist. This lateral eye movement is believed to diminish the painful power of the memory so that it can be discussed with a therapist.

Is somatic therapy evidence-based?

Somatic therapy has been researched and studied, and some forms of somatic therapy are found to be effective in treating a wide range of conditions. Because somatic therapy encompasses many techniques, some, such as EMDR and meditation, have been studied more than others.

What is somatic trauma therapy?

Somatic trauma therapy is based on the idea that when people experience trauma, they can become stuck in the “freeze” part of a “fight, flight, or freeze” response. In this state, trauma can manifest itself both mentally and physically—through tension in the muscles, anxiety, and stress. Popular forms of somatic trauma therapy include EMDR, sensorimotor therapy, and somatic experiencing.
