I have a Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of North Texas. I have been licensed as a counselor in Texas since 2008.I am a licensed psychologist and licensed professional counselor supervisor. I specialize in treating adolescents and families with various issues, such as anger, behavior problems, and relational difficulties. Given my nearly 13 years of experience in the counseling field, I am comfortable utilizing an eclectic approach to treatment, based on the individual needs of the client. I am also licensed through the PsyPact which allows me to provide telehealth to many states in the U.S.

I’m so glad you’re here. Taking this first step in getting support takes courage and true grit. My clients come from diverse backgrounds and experience anxiety, depression, and trauma. They often struggle with setting boundaries, managing stress, adjusting to a new phase in life, or navigating difficult relationships. Currently, I work with adolescents and adults utilizing a client-centered and attachment-based approach. Other modalities I practice include play and art therapy techniques, sand tray therapy, somatic, trauma focused, Dialectical Behavior (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Mindfulness-Based methods.

I focus on providing a safe, calm environment where clients learn to trust. A warm and collaborative environment helps clients to regain a sense of felt safety, autonomy, and empowerment. Clients report they feel seen, heard, accepted, and understood. An environment free of judgement encourages clients to “use their voice,” a gentle prompt my clients hear often. I believe in the resiliency of the human spirit and in the inherent motivation to survive. I will meet you wherever you are on your journey. Dr. Darla Absher is a a Licensed Professional Counselor, Supervisor LPC-S #62089, located in Austin and Bastrop, Texas. Dr. Absher treats the full spectrum of disorders and life adjustments. I received my Master of Arts in Counseling from St. Edward's University, in Austin, Texas in August 2005. In 2003, I received my Master of Arts in Human Services from St. Edward's. In 2001 I graduated from St. Edward's University with a Bachelor of Arts with a concentration in Psychology. In December 2011, I graduated from Argosy University in Dallas, Texas with a Doctor of Clinical Psychology.

I will help you learn strategies to replace hurtful or self-defeating thoughts, feelings, and actions with healthy, adaptive, alternatives. Such counseling is a highly individualized process focusing on specific areas of concern that you and I will identify together.

Allie depends upon her relationship with clients to build trust and provide a safe space for clients to share their story. Allie is passionate about helping clients of all ages including children, adolescent, and adults.

Christi Moreno is a Licensed Professional Counselor at Comfort and Joy Therapy. She received her MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from a CACREP program and enjoys working with children (7+), adolescents, and adults of all ages. She enters every counseling relationship with a person-centered approach and uses a variety of counseling techniques and theories as appropriate for specific client situations. Techniques and theories could include elements from Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Focused CBT, Adlerian Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, DBT, Art Therapy, and many others.

One thing that I always find most impactful is someone becoming empowered to move towards freedom and healing. I strongly believe that when we are able to grow into having a more positive relationship with ourselves, we are able to reach our goals. I am passionate about helping individuals who are facing a variety of difficulties that may be related to childhood, disconnection from either yourself or your daily life, or significant distressing experiences.
