Touchstone was founded in 2005 by Dr. Cindy Baker. Her dream was to create a place that any member of the community could turn to without fear of stigma or ridicule by creating a safe setting and discreet healing environment. Telehealth permits our team to work with all Missouri residents with their counseling needs. We offer executive coaching, life coaching, community talks, workshops and seminars, anger management, court-ordered services, parenting education. Dr. Baker is offering a Mental Health Urgent Care model in her practice for extreme traumatic needs to reduce wait time for a session.

Maybe you are about to get married. Maybe you are in a relationship and haven't yet considered marriage. Maybe you've been married for 5, 13, even 35 years. Every relationship at some point experiences hardship and difficulty. It takes a lot of effort and energy to make a relationship succeed and stay close connected and intimate. Sometimes, it can be very difficult to find the energy, the will, or the motivation to truly give your heart to your partner. Whenever there is brokenness, my goal is to take those broken parts and bring them back together to make a whole relationship again.

Life is a journey, a journey that is most difficult when traveled alone. I strive to walk with clients on their path towards healing and happiness. Working from a client-centered approach, it is essential for me to understand each client as an individual to develop trust and a partnership in therapy. Relationships, trauma, careers and other stressors take a toll on a person's ability to flourish. I believe that each person has potential for growth from those experiences. My goal is to help you regain your footing on your path to living a full and vibrant life.

My ideal client resonates with at least one of the following statements: 1) You are often told how smart you are, but you think you’ve just managed to fool everyone and are worried that one day they’ll see the “real” you. 2) You are a naturally excitable and passionate person, even if you don’t always show it on the outside. 3) People often tell you to “stop thinking about it so much,” but your thoughts don’t stop. You’re not sure you could even imagine a mind where nothing is happening. My clients want to feel like they know themselves, have confidence, and that past negative experiences do not determine who they are.

With over 10 years of being in practice, I believe it is my role to provide a safe and compassionate space for each person that chooses to share their experience with me. My job is to help each person I see to explore past hurts, to put voice to feelings, and to help each person make meaning out of their life. It is my belief that many of us walk this world not fully allowing ourselves to come into our own, due to a fear of not being accepted and due to limiting beliefs given to us by others. I am here to help you heal your past traumas, the unhealthy attachments you experienced, and to build a future that is full of peace and ease.

My clients are successful professionals who have areas in their lives that they feel have become chaotic, due to addiction, abuse, and trauma. I believe that there is currently a large population of highly successful professionals who are struggling with these issues in an unhealthy way, such as watching pornography or sex. I am a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT) specializing in sex/porn addictions, multiple addictions, trauma, abuse, and PTSD.

I have worked with a wide array of clients, especially in my past career in Adventure Based Counseling. I have walked therapeutic, and literal, paths with people from all walks of life and with concerns ranging from depression and anxiety to personality disorders and trauma survivors. My ideal client is one that shows up physically, mentally, and emotionally for themselves. Healing, repairing, and integrating can be hard work. I'm here to join with you and walk the path hand in hand.

As a therapist I hope to create a space in which clients feel comfortable to explore what is holding them back from living a life that feels fulfilling. I believe that it is possible to live a life of balance in which stress and distress feel like something to cope with rather than something that overwhelms or overshadows the possibilities in life. I want to support learning and discovery as well as an integration of this new awareness into life so that clients leave with both self-knowledge and empowerment to maintain change.

Together we will focus on social skills and ways to create the life you want for yourself by establishing confidence, encouraging self-growth and creating room to enhance self-worth. Hi! I'm Darla, and I am glad that we are going to embark on this journey together. It's important to feel connected to your therapist. I believe that sometimes we are all in need of additional support and assistance to navigate through difficult life situations that may seem overwhelming and debilitating. I am here to assist you and respectfully walk beside you while also honoring your autonomy. I participate in AAT- Animal Assisted Therapy. I have 4 bengal therapy cats that come in on rotation. They are great for regulating the nervous system.

Sometimes we have an idea of what our life should look like, or what we would like it to look like. However, situations outside of our control occur and can knock us off of our feet. Whether it be from past familial trauma, current familial issues, work burnout, chronic diagnoses or terminal illness, issues within the relationship, the struggles of parenting (especially special needs children), traumatic birth experiences, or life transitions, I am here to help you navigate through all of this and more.

There is no universal blueprint for getting through life without a scratch. Life gets hard and sometimes it can feel like your entire world is spinning out of control. As your fellow human, I too, know feelings of pain, suffering, and disconnection. The heartache and confusion that often comes with broken relationships, addiction, and life transitions. The sense of emptiness, and lack of identity and direction that ebbs and flows as we move through our existence. None of us are exempt, but I’m here to tell you that you are not alone and that there is hope.

With several years of personal and professional experience working with recovery from pornography and problematic sexual behavior, I utilize a trauma-informed approach to treat anxiety, depression, PTSD, and process addictions. I hold a Bachelor’s of Science in Human Services from Evangel University, and received my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Missouri State University.

My practice specializes in assisting those with difficulties regulating themselves. I work with depression, anxiety, trauma and all the various unhelpful coping skills we learn when we're struggling with living the life we want.
