My holistic approach includes a variety of modalities including CBT, DBT, Mindfulness and Cultural Sensitivity. I have experience working with individuals with ADHD and learning disabilities and an undergrad degree in Special Education. I started working in the Lehigh Valley in 1979 after post-doctoral training in marriage and family therapy. My focus now is on helping people age through their senior years with creativity and grace, using writing, visual images, and a psychological and spiritual method called SoulCollage®. I assist people going through transitions in their lives as well as those who are stuck. My ideal client is between the ages of 40 and 80+, who is eager to learn about him/her self and move ahead with insight and wisdom. I also work with couples at all stages and writing memoirs.

I like to work with a broad range of clientelle who prefer a straightforward approach. I work with individual clients and at times, host couple/family sessions to assist in the treatment of the individual. I accept many commercial insurances. My waitlist for Pa Medicaid spans over a year in length, so I am NOT accepting new Medicaid referrals. I work with clients exhibiting symptoms of anxiety, depression and trauma. As a US Army Veteran, I have a keen understanding of the military culture and concerns of military personnel and their families not often seen in the private sector.

As a Counseling Psychologist I am searching to find health or “ego strength“ in a person. People are capable of having internal positive and negative aspects in play at all times. Working from a psychodynamic model to see the whole clinical picture, I believe insight is crucial but it doesn’t guarantee behavior change. To that end I work from a cognitive and behavioral model to build strength.
