Anthony is a licensed psychotherapist with 26 years of clinical experience practicing cognitive behavioral, solution-focused, holistic psychotherapy. Anthony is aware that this is not everyone's cup of tea. He has worked as a clinical operations supervisor/director for outpatient mental health clinics, AODA programs, and corrections facilities. Most of Anthony's career has been addressing substance addictions, adjustment disorders, and trauma recovery. Anthony has experienced a diverse work history that includes service in the US Navy, as a paramedic, police officer, and crisis worker.

I strive to provide an environment for clients that is free of judgment in which clients feel safe to explore any issue that they are facing. My core belief is that all people have an innate ability and drive to achieve an overall state of happiness, comfort, and satisfaction with their lives. I am Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a specialized focus and training in trauma, adoption, and attachment. I have completed trainings in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Adoption competency (TAC), Brainspotting (BSP), and Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). My approach to clients is relaxed, compassionate, and most importantly, non judgmental. I take great care to create a sense of felt safety in order for clients to freely share and process painful emotions and experiences to achieve greater well being and happiness. Trauma is defined as "a deeply distressing or disturbing experience". Traumatic events are life changing. Living with constant fear and anxiety as a result can be debilitating; making it difficult to connect with others and navigate the world around us. I specialize in treating child and adolescent trauma as well as individuals and families. Early on in my career I worked with high profile trauma cases. This, paired with my experience working in the school setting and my deep curiosity of neuroscience has given me a unique set of clinical skills.

I founded my private practice on the principle of helping others create the life that they want. Often times that means resolving past trauma or issues that stand in our way. The clients I work with range from 5 years of age up to 85 years of age. Many of my clients are working towards decreasing their anxiety with better coping skills or wanting to discover or re-discover who they are as a person. A majority of my clients want to increase their knowledge about their mental health and how it impacts them. I have clients processing trauma from their past and their current traumatic experiences and want to build healthier relationships. The biggest goal that most of my clients are wanting is coping skills.

My journey to becoming a therapist started after returning home from a combat deployment, experiencing a devastating divorce and years of readjustment difficulties. During these deeply personal experiences, I became aware of the hurt and the brokenness we all face and now have a deep desire to help others to overcome as I did. I am passionate about helping couples find reconciliation and negotiating relationship pitfalls. As well as working with clients to heal from past trauma, manage their anxiety/depression, regulate anger or learn to value themselves again. You don't have to face it alone, there is hope.
