Raised in India, educated in Britain (Warwick University) and the United States (Northwestern University's Family Institute), I specialize in treatment of families across cultures. As a licensed clinical social worker, I work in collaboration with my clients to maximize individual and family functioning. I create a safe, caring and non-judgmental environment for immigrant families facing intergenerational problems, marital discord, emotional and psychological problems, arising from adaptation to a foreign culture. I have considerable experience in community mental health and child welfare, helping people with complex multiple issues.

I am an experienced clinician who enjoys helping people navigate difficult periods in their life. My passion is helping people grow and change to become the best version of themselves. I provide psychotherapy for adults, couples and adolescents. My specialties include: anxiety, depression, women's issues, relational difficulties, stress/wellness, life transitions, grief and loss.

Allison works primarily with adults and teens. Her practice areas include issues of anxiety, depression, trauma, grief/loss, stress management, and other life changes. For clients who are interested in faith-based counseling, Allison has received training in integrating spirituality and faith into sessions. In graduate school, she conducted research about assisting clients with processing and healing from traumatic religious experiences. Allison uses several different therapeutic approaches, including person-centered counseling and existential counseling, as well as trauma-informed techniques and other evidence-based interventions.

I see my role as helping people learn to trust themselves, to respect their own strength, and finally to build healthier relationships both personally and professionally. I am a solution focused therapist who takes a more active role n the counseling sessions. I have extensive experience with children, adolescents, and adults. I have specialized training and experience in treating depression, anxiety disorders, alcohol and substance abuse, and family problems. In addition, I direct a practice of 11 psychologists. Together it means we have the ability to match the right person to your particular needs.

I am a graduate from Northwestern University's Family Institute, and Owner of Watch Hill Therapy, Trauma Specialty Practice in downtown Chicago and in McHenry Co. Our clinicians use a holistic, relational, and collaborative approach to address the many needs that being traumatized creates.
