No previous artistic skill necessary! I lead with a creativity-focused, gentle and firm integrative approach to therapy.
I am specifically inclined to work with folks who are curious about using the creative process to heal, who are LGBTQ+, who are interested in exploring new ways to find or relocate their intuitive voice to reconstruct and tell their story, and who are in recovery from substance use, imposter syndrome, or wounded childhoods.Compiling words together to form accurate depictions of personal narratives attached to life experiences can feel extremely daunting in talk therapy alone. With the invitation to use art, movement, metaphor, sound and play, exploring creativity can provide non-threatening means to access empowerment and healing.

I also provide an integrative form of psychotherapy.
How can I help you? At face value, it's a simple question. However, it's one that can have profound meaning when you are experiencing hardship and confusion in your life. It offers the opportunity for you to enter into a therapeutic working relationship. One that provides the professional guidance and support needed to resolve the issues that are contributing to the problems at hand. It also provides you the opportunity to develop a deeper sensitivity, understanding, and acceptance of your true self. It's the first step forward, towards a change for the better and a more fulfilling and meaningful life.

Clients describe my presence to be grounded, connected, and REAL! (I mean, this growth shit can be messy and kind of suck- right?) My approach is integrative- emphasizing depth psychology, attachment, examining family and cultural beliefs, connecting to your spirituality, mindfulness, and psychotherapeutic reiki.
You already know yourself very well. And because of this- You are looking for a different kind of therapy space. You are seeking a space in which you can find humor, grace, and wonder while navigating this human experience. One in which your intuition, spirituality, and inner knowing will be honored and used as a tool to transform your lived experience. A space where context matters and is used to create new perspectives and deeper understanding. A space to unpack your stories, unravel your deepest beliefs, and become friends (yes… I said friends) with your inner shadowy parts.

I take an experiential, integrative approach drawing from my extensive trainings & lived experience in mindfulness, somatic + nervous system based therapies, attachment theory and psychodynamic approaches.
None of us are immune to life's challenges and we also don't come with instructions on how to navigate these. We often carry our past experiences and stress without realizing it— to the point where we feel it not only emotionally, but also in our physical bodies. Research confirms the mind and body aren’t so separate after all, but more of an interdependent unit greatly influencing one another. Past traumas, anxiety, depression, feeling stuck, chronic illness, difficult life transition, caught in the cycles of shame + self criticism; these are all labels and struggles many of us identify with at some point, but they don't define us.

Specializing in trauma of all kinds, I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC), Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist (LCAS), Certified Advanced Integrative Therapy (AIT) Practitioner, and have a Masters Degree in Art Therapy.
Even the most self-aware humans can experience periods of confusion, stuckness, and destabilization, and oftentimes suffering has unconscious roots. I've dedicated my training and education as a helping professional to learn how to unlock messages from the unconscious to promote healing and well-being. I also strive to arm my clients with concrete tools to use independently, long after our work together is completed. I have many years of experience helping people heal, blending a variety of nontraditional and expressive therapeutic approaches with evidence-based interventions to meet the individual needs of the people I serve.

I believe every person has the right to feel seen, valued, and heard. I provide a safe space for my clients. A space where there is no judgement; where over time, when trust is built within the therapeutic relationship, the client will bring their most authentic self into session. I use an integrative approach, although my roots lay in modern psychoanalysis and in attachment framework. Having healthy relationships, specifically with ourselves is challenging! Relationships are vital to the emotional and mental health of all human beings especially the relationship with the self, as I believe it holds both the wound and the cure.

I'd love the opportunity to connect with you to show you how my integrative approach can help you gain understanding and self-resiliency.
You've been in therapy before. And you're psychologically savvy enough to know that growth doesn't have to do with finding a diagnosis and grabbing a few coping skills for the road. As any normal human does, we develop narratives and behavioral patterns to help us ignore, numb, protect, or compartmentalize our psychological conflicts. If you're reading this and you can relate, I see you. You need to find a therapist who can help you to dig deep enough to identify these patterns and change the old narratives. Some of these patterns MAY include:

I have an integrative approach to the therapeutic process.
My purpose, my passion, and my plan is to serve marginalized communities in addressing and dismantling the long-term impacts of systemic racism and oppression. As a therapist and servant leader, I find fulfillment in working with individuals to navigate complex trauma, grief, anxiety, depression, and life transitions. As a society, we are struggling to cope with the uncertainty of tomorrow. Together, we can understand and explore the benefits in learning to operate from our value systems and not our circumstances.

Are you stuck? Are you unsure of how talking alone is going to change your experience of anxiety, depression, or other patterns in your life? Many of us would do anything to get that continuous voice in our head to be quiet. And, many of us are walking around with traumas that we've had for years. These experiences are part of life; however, at times, can become overpowering. I offer integrative techniques designed to help you reprocess, release, and reinvent parts of you that are struggling. I have years of experience working with grief. I also specialize in working with other therapists and caregiving professionals.

I use an integrative approach to honor the needs of your unique experience in therapy. Some of the modalities I weave into our work include emotional freedom technique (EFT), internal family systems (IFS), attachment theory, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), narrative techniques, and mindfulness. Our inner world is the most precious thing we have. Creating space and time to honor your psycho-spiritual health is honorable. I meet you where you are with unconditional presence and support. We exist, always, in relationship to others and it’s through our therapeutic relationship that we’ll work to create the change you desire.

Integrative Therapists

What is integrative therapy?

Integrative therapy is a type of therapy that combines ideas and techniques from different therapeutic approaches depending on the needs of the individual client. By merging elements of different treatments, an integrative therapist aims to offer a more flexible approach than those who practice just one type of therapy.

How does integrative therapy work?

Integrative therapy approaches a client’s mental, physical, and emotional health in a holistic way to discover the sources of their unhealthy behavior patterns or other challenges and considers the approach most likely to lead to improvement. Among the techniques an integrative therapist may practice are cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, EMDR, mindfulness, art or music therapy, psychodynamic therapy, breathwork, family systems therapy, gestalt therapy, and trauma-informed therapy. An integrative therapist regularly evaluates the client’s progress and is prepared to pivot to a different approach if progress stalls.

How long does integrative therapy last?

As with most forms of talk therapy, there is no set duration or end point for integrative therapy; people who find they are making progress typically continue until they feel they’ve addressed the issues that spurred them to seek treatment. New patients should understand that it may take some time for a therapist to land on a treatment approach that best meets their needs, but once they do, they should expect sessions to extend for a number of months, typically including at least 12 sessions.

How effective is integrative therapy?

There are hundreds of types of talk therapy, and research shows that while they vary in form, goals, and frequency, many if not all can produce similarly successful outcomes. But a single approach does not always deliver the greatest, or speediest, benefit, and so even therapists primarily trained in one model will use tools, language, techniques, or exercises from others to shape an effective treatment plan.
