Connection is the cornerstone of good therapy, and as a person, I am very compassionate, warm and engaging. I work with high achieving, highly driven, people who would like to deepen their experience of connection in life; both to themselves and others. No matter how our lives appear on the outside, many of us feel emotionally lonely and emotionally unsatisfied. I believe that through understanding and awareness, we can move towards becoming our true selves and experience life more deeply. We can learn to connect more fully with ourselves and others and transform our lives.

I believe in "process over content," and value the relationship between therapist and client above all else.
There are many gifts with being a therapist, including being witness to significant, positive change. I have worked since 2005 with many individuals facing mental health challenges, difficult life transitions, and challenging relationships of all kinds. I have also had a career in the business arena holding leadership positions, so I am uniquely able to offer insight and guidance surrounding navigating work and how our lives can be both positively or negatively impacted by what we do (boundaries, communication, work/life balance, etc.).

It is human to get lost and feel isolated at times, but from an evolutionary perspective, humans weren't built to heal in isolation. Stress, grief, and life transitions are all normal, but how we navigate them can determine whether anxiety, depression, or isolation follow. My nonjudgmental, research-informed approach supports clients in healing through diligent practice, secure connection, mutual respect, and clear-eyed self-reflection. Clients are safe to explore their full selfhood, to view challenge as a normal part of growth, to learn concrete tools for comfort and safety, and to grow secure and joyous in their authentic selves.

Life often seems to move so quickly, barely allowing a chance to take in all that we have experienced. Especially in times of change or intense grief, you may want a space to process your experiences-both the mundane moments and major life-changing events-in order to understand what is going on inside. Therapy can be the perfect space to sort through your experiences, search for meaning and understanding, and discern the path forward that is right for you.

Please click the "website" button to schedule an appointment. I am currently accepting new clients. It is my professional and personal belief that "life happens" which causes dis-ease in the mind. This impacts our feelings, thoughts and ideas about self and our relationships with others. I provide therapy for every day people working to become their best self. I have experience working with adolescents, adults, couples and families. I've treated clients coping with grief, trauma, depression, anxiety, self-esteem issues, domestic violence, high risk sexual behaviors and LGBTQ issues.

Accepting new clients. I believe therapy is a collaborative process between the two of us. Our work together will help you live a meaningful and purposeful life, feel safe in your body, understand your behavioral and attachment patterns, and heal from relational trauma. Our earliest relationships inform the way we respond to situations past and present. As adults, we may notice some of these patterns are more harmful than helpful. Through this framework, I incorporate acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), internal family systems (IFS), and body-based approaches into our work together.

I have been given the opportunity to work in several professional therapeutic settings, with 14 years of experience and my innate ability to help; we collectively in our therapeutic relationship will attempt to find the tools needed to assist in areas of concern.
My ideal client is an individual, couple or family who are seeking to find "their" peace due to trauma, depression, anxiety, or transitioning into a new phase of life; weather that be a new job, child or adult abuse, marriage, a new baby...etc. Life can be chaotic and at times very overwhelming which can often appear as if we are in the middle of a storm desperately seeking peace and refuge.

I believe in promoting healing and healthy mind through effective psychotherapy. Life as magnificent as it is, comes with challenges that can overwhelm an individual to the point where his/her daily functioning is significantly impaired. Psychotherapy provides a means for managing and coping with issues that at some time or another interfere with daily functioning. My goal is to assist individuals with learning how to manage/cope with the challenges presented by life.

Research shows that it is the relationship between the client and the therapist that is the most important factor for success. I work to build a collaborative relationship that is rich, trusting, and productive. I look to encourage curiosity toward our experiences, where thoughts and patterns can be put into words.

Relationship Issues Therapists
While need for human connection appears to be innate, the ability to form healthy, loving relationships is learned. Some evidence suggests that the ability to form a stable relationship starts to form in infancy, in a child's earliest experiences with a caregiver who reliably meets the infant's needs for food, care, warmth, protection, stimulation, and social contact. Such relationships are not destiny, but they are theorized to establish deeply ingrained patterns of relating to others. The end of a relationship, however, is often a source of great psychological anguish.
