Throughout this process, you will be supported and listened to non-judgementally while being supplied with skills you can use to improve negative thinking, ease anxiety and depressive symptoms, navigate grief or loss, trauma, life changes, self-discovery, LGBT challenges, women's issues, non-monogamous/kink related struggles, family dynamics and more.
Hello! Therapy and choosing to engage with oneself on an intimate and vulnerable level can be an intimidating and frustrating experience, but making that decision, for yourself, can ultimately be one of the most rewarding things you can do. Choosing to know yourself and be compassionate towards your behavior and experiences can lead to not only tangible change but also fulfillment and a more well-rounded and positive outlook on life.

I specialize in perinatal and women's mental health, where we openly discuss the unique challenges of womanhood and motherhood in the context of identity - individual, family, work.
Being a woman, being a mother, and all the things that come with these roles can feel overwhelming. Are you finding yourself struggling to manage your emotions lately? Have you felt disconnected from your pre-marriage or pre-motherhood self? Are you looking for a place where you can talk about these things without fear of being judged or misunderstood? Whether you're a new mom or a seasoned one, a newly wed or newly single, you don't have to manage these feelings alone. My role is to help guide you through these transitions (motherhood, professionally, etc.) and to help you feel confident while doing it.

Are you at the point where you know something has to change? I help adults cope with the challenges of being a caregiver while struggling with anxiety and depression, teaching you techniques that will allow you to realize your strengths and maximize your potential. The fact that so many of us work to make ends meet or support our passions, along with juggling family life and work responsibilities, leaves us feeling overwhelmed.

I empower men to overcome anxiety, depression, addiction, trauma, and more through personalized, collaborative therapy, drawing on CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy), IFS (Internal Family Systems), mindfulness, and music therapies to help them find their unique path to healing and growth.
"The problem is not the problem. The problem is your attitude about the problem." Are you tired of pretending "everything's fine", when it's not? Real men embrace vulnerability, honesty & courage. It takes guts to ask for help & face struggles head-on. It takes strength to open up & true bravery to take action for lasting change. We often hit a wall in life & reach a turning point – a bridge we need to cross. Are you looking for a therapist who is real and genuine & can guide you across? As we embark on this transformative journey, I will be here to support you every step of the way, empowering you to unlock your true potential.

Hello! Thanks for visiting my profile. I’m originally from Philadelphia and now based in Baltimore. I am licensed in both Maryland and Texas (where I previously lived and went to graduate school). I have worked in the social services field for over 15 years and have been a licensed social worker and practicing therapist for 5 years. Most of my experience has consisted of working with survivors of violence (family, intimate partner, and/or sexual violence) as well as with Spanish-speaking immigrants. I enjoy working with caregivers and their children and with mixed status immigrant families.

I support individuals & couples navigating, trauma within family of origin, high demand job stress, LGBTQIA concerns, nontraditional relationship support, BIPOC support, sexual health, life transitions.
Therapy, we all have been given different messages (good & bad) about what it “means” to utilize it. In case no one has told you lately, seeking therapy does not mean something is wrong with you. Rather you are new to therapy and wondering what to discuss in session or have intermittently done therapy, I work to ensure my clients therapeutic journey is catered to meet their wants and needs.

I enjoy working with creatively inspired individuals searching for or growing fulfilling careers or entrepreneurial opportunities which emphasize their unique personalities and natural gifts that allow for an integrated work-life balance. I also enjoy working with parents interested in finding an integrated lifestyle that merges personal, professional, and familial values. I use a family systems lens in individual counseling, where we collaborate on exploring how past and present family systems influence a person’s sense of self. I also work with clients' external systems in family therapy and parent coaching, etc.

Family Therapy

What do family therapists do?

A family therapist facilitates the process of understanding and improving how a family functions. The therapist will help family members develop empathy for one another. They’ll seek to understand existing patterns, misunderstandings, and conflicts that arise, in order to help the family arrive at a realistic, unified understanding and develop the coping skills they need to build stronger relationships.

How long does therapy for families take to work?

Therapy manifests differently in every family; a common time frame is 12 weekly sessions, but some families may see improvement after just a few weeks. Families should discuss their goals with the therapist at the beginning of the process and periodically revisit those goals to assess their progress together.

How can you encourage a family member to attend family therapy?

You can encourage family members to attend therapy by expressing with both love and concern the challenges you see and explaining how a therapist could help the family navigate those challenges together. An outside perspective can help everyone feel heard, get on the same page, and develop new skills. If family members are still hesitant, it may be helpful to emphasize that family therapy is short-term—it won’t last forever.

Is therapy for families effective?

Family therapy can significantly improve family dynamics and relationships. Research suggests that family therapy can help individuals understand their role in the family, communicate and solve problems together, reduce conflict and draw boundaries when necessary, and develop coping skills for stressors, major life changes, and mental or physical illnesses within the family.
