My work is with adults and teens ages 12 and up; I specialize in treating first responders, addiction within the family, self-harm, suicidal ideation, and trauma.
Life happens, which can foster a need for healing and connection. I’ve learned that as humans, we often avoid our pain and discomfort which can keep us stuck. Depression, anxiety and trauma can often be debilitating. Learning about yourself and how to obtain your wants and needs in life is so important. Doing “the work” needed for change can be hard. As your ally and advocate, I will be present with you and in support of you, throughout your “work.”

I specialize in working with preteens, teens and adults using traditional talk therapy and incorporating a variety of treatments when needed, including CBT, DBT, mindfulness and trauma-focused CBT.
Have you been feeling stuck with emotional pain from traumatic experiences or life stressors/transitions and keep ignoring the signs? The difficult thoughts, feelings, and unexplained behaviors (frequent crying, difficulty sleeping, nightmares, poor appetite, self-harm, trouble concentrating, isolation, etc...) that are keeping you from becoming the best version of yourself. This may seem difficult but you are not alone. I have experience working in a school-based and outpatient clinical setting. I welcome you and will support you in this journey of choosing YOU! It is never too late for change!

My clinical interests include trauma/grief counseling, PTSD, racial disparities and conflict, sexual identity, couples counseling, and attachment issues.
Are you feeling invisible? Angry about a breakup? Have you recently experienced a loss/death? Do you feel misunderstood? Are you experiencing more pain, burnout, and/or fatigue than normal? Does your adolescent need extra support? Is your family/relationship falling apart? If your answer to any of these questions is "Yes," or even if you have questions of your own, it may be time to reach out and talk through those thoughts and feelings. I would be delighted to be the person you reach out to.

I offer a trauma-informed, holistic, collaborative approach where you remain the expert in your life and therapy is built around our collective knowledge to best help you meet your goals.
Throughout life everyone experiences varying degrees of struggle which often feel completely unmanageable when we try to brave it alone. The shame and embarrassment that can be associated with asking for help can be paralyzing and can leave us writhing in pain and feeling alone. When in reality, the ability to recognize the need for support is something that should be celebrated and admired. If you are brave enough to reach out, you deserve a safe space of non judgment, empathy, compassion and understanding where you can sort through your concerns and learn the skills to eventually better manage them on your own.

My approach to trauma is a narrative approach where the client is told to share their story but within an emotionally regulated body, using grounding skills and somatics to help process emotions without overwhelm.
With the stress of the modern world, our hustle and bustle culture, and the limited time we have for connection today, people come to therapy looking for a place to let it all out. I am here to facilitate that safe space for you! If you have suffered from trauma, grief, or are adjusting to life stressors such as a new school, relationship, or more - I will help you find the concrete tools you need to get through. If you are noticing relationship patterns that you need to change, or are interested in integrating traumatic experiences so you can move forward in life, let's talk!

Together, we will work collaboratively to deconstruct these behaviors using a solutions-focused, systems-based approach combined with a trauma-informed, humanistic perspective that will help you rediscover your purpose and become the best version of yourself!.
As we journey through life, we encounter obstacles and challenges through the interactions we have with our family, our friends, and our environment that shape our reactions to the world around us and impact our self-perception. We may be unaware of how these behaviors negatively impact our day to day interactions and functioning that may be hindering our potential, leading to existential crises and feelings of aimlessness and hopelessness.

I have extensive experience working with individuals who find themselves suffering from relational problems, low self-esteem, panic attacks, depression, PTSD, sexual abuse, domestic violence, bi-polar disorder, and psychosis.
I whole-heartedly believe in each individual's unique ability to find their true Self, the person they were meant to become. From a centered existence one is better able to make choices that promote health, supportive relationships, and passionate pursuits. At times, one may find what once was easy has become more difficult. One's emotional and perceptual landscape may become unfamiliar, what one allows others to see may not fit with how one really feels, one's path may become less certain. Therapy provides the acceptance and space with which to find oneself, perhaps for the first time.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for trauma?

Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?

Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?

Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?

It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
