My 50 years of experience in the behavioral change and personal growth and potential field has afforded many experiences in many facilities, currently a private practice setting. My therapeutic approach is multifaceted, focused on solutions. Psychophysiology is another area of emphasis for me and I address this with Biofeedback, Neurofeedback and Passive Infrared Hemoencephalogrophy, procedures effective for anxiety, stress mangaement, chronic pain, ADD, and optimal performance.

If you (or others you care about or are responsible for) are wondering why you behave the way you do, an assessment with psychological testing might provide the needed explanations. I do assessments and psychological evaluations aimed at determining if there is some dysfunction, and if so, suggest treatment plans to ameliorate the problems identified. PLEASE NOTE: After many years of providing comprehensive psychological services, including assessment and psychotherapy, I NO LONGER OFFER COUNSELING or PSYCHOTHERAPY. I just provide assessments, e.g., for ADHD or bipolar disorder, and evaluations.

I specialize in children, adolescents, families, and couples. For all of my professional career I have focused on children and families, although my post masters' academic work has allowed me the opportunity to practice as a couples' therapist as well. My approach in my psychotherapy practice is individualized to my client's needs and includes shared goals between therapist and client.

Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) is a short-term, evidence-based treatment for kids ages 2.5 to 7 years old who exhibit behaviors such as anger, hyperactivity, trouble focusing, frequent tantrums, aggression, and anxiety. Caregivers learn and implement play therapy techniques that help kids regulate their emotions, increase focus, and strengthen the parent-child relationship. Caregivers learn concrete strategies to promote consistency, predictability, and motivate their child to follow directions. PCIT with Toddlers is an adaptation of PCIT for kids ages 12-24 months with similar behavior concerns.
