Hi there. I help people who struggle with feeling disconnected from others or themselves, and with folk who believe they "aren't enough" despite continuously working to help themselves and others. More than ever, we are feeling anxious, burnt out, and overwhelmed about how we can fully engage in our lives, careers, and relationships. Pushing away our needs or struggling to find the first step can lead to emotional, mental and physical exhaustion. I believe that life doesn't have to be so hard.

Hey there! My name is Jeremy and I'm glad you're looking into some mental health supports. Whether it is for yourself or for someone you know, looking into different therapy options can be overwhelming with all the options out there, so it can be helpful to have a general idea of what some of your counselling goals might be and go from there. Phone consultations are a great way to see if you might be a good fit with each other as well. I believe in everyone's ability to create changes for themselves and haven't met a client I haven't learned from yet!

Feeling stuck? Worried that things won't get better? Have you been putting off more tasks and feeling further behind? Sometimes the stress from our relationships, responsibilities, work and family demands can feel overwhelming. In times of uncertainty, we may find it especially tricky to manage what we used to manage. Feeling demotivated, alone or hopeless can be common experiences after going through adversities or trauma. We may want company but find ourselves taking a step back or feeling anxious to talk with others. We want to feel better in order to do more, but uncertain with where to start.

In our lives we sometimes experince unexpected, painful and challenging circumstances which can be difficult to navigate on your own. It can be helpful to explore your story with someone you trust and feel comfortable sharing your experinces and feelings with. In therapy I provide a safe, genuine, and compassionate environment to help you uncover and understand who you are and identify the changes you want to make in your life. I believe it's my role to be supportive and help you identify and work towards the future you desire and choose.

I am passionate about offering therapy that supports people to acknowledge what doesn't feel good, allow ourselves to desire something different, and create change that makes our desires a reality. In therapy, we will work together to help you better understand your emotions, thoughts, behaviours, and beliefs. We will draw from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to help you build coping skills, but we will go deeper, beyond symptom management, so that you can experience deeper, long-lasting growth and positive change. If you are ready to fully commit to investing in yourself, I am ready to support you.

We all have experiences that turn our world upside down. These experiences can be anything, but when it happens, we can feel confused, lost, or stuck while struggling to adjust to our new reality. I aim to support clients so that they gain self-knowledge, build resilience, and feel capable in their "new normal." As a Registered Psychologist, I work with individuals (adult and teens), couples, and families to help them achieve and maintain mental wellness while going through experiences that challenge them. I believe all challenges occur within a context, so I include social and cultural factors into my work with all clients.

Courage, moderation, hope, wisdom, love, meaning and purpose, these are some of the qualities we wish for when we are struggling and in pain. If you or someone close to you are looking to embody these types of virtues in the face of adversity, I would like to offer my support.

How often in our daily lives do we pause to listen and pay attention to our deepest needs and desires? Do we acknowledge what might be missing (or already there) and identify and mobilize those resources that could help us live a wholesome, satisfying life? As a psychologist, I create a judgement-free space where people are supported in answering those questions. I view counselling as a space where we can unpack the messiness of life and be encouraged to make changes in the pursuit of joy, health, and balance.

You are the expert on your own life, and whether you are working to heal from a past trauma, trying to improve your relationship skills, overcome struggles with anxiety or depression, increase your sense of self-worth, dealing with a loss, or just working to find yourself again. Integrative Counsellors

What is integrative therapy?

Integrative therapy is a type of therapy that combines ideas and techniques from different therapeutic approaches depending on the needs of the individual client. By merging elements of different treatments, an integrative therapist aims to offer a more flexible approach than those who practice just one type of therapy.

How does integrative therapy work?

Integrative therapy approaches a client’s mental, physical, and emotional health in a holistic way to discover the sources of their unhealthy behaviour patterns or other challenges and considers the approach most likely to lead to improvement. Among the techniques an integrative therapist may practice are cognitive-behavioural therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy, EMDR, mindfulness, art or music therapy, psychodynamic therapy, breathwork, family systems therapy, gestalt therapy, and trauma-informed therapy. An integrative therapist regularly evaluates the client’s progress and is prepared to pivot to a different approach if progress stalls.

How long does integrative therapy last?

As with most forms of talk therapy, there is no set duration or end point for integrative therapy; people who find they are making progress typically continue until they feel they’ve addressed the issues that spurred them to seek treatment. New patients should understand that it may take some time for a therapist to land on a treatment approach that best meets their needs, but once they do, they should expect sessions to extend for a number of months, typically including at least 12 sessions.

How effective is integrative therapy?

There are hundreds of types of talk therapy, and research shows that while they vary in form, goals, and frequency, many if not all can produce similarly successful outcomes. But a single approach does not always deliver the greatest, or speediest, benefit, and so even therapists primarily trained in one model will use tools, language, techniques, or exercises from others to shape an effective treatment plan.
