I believe that a strong therapeutic relationship between client and clinician is key in order for growth to happen. Once mutual respect and trust are established, I work toward gaining a deeper understanding of the client, their needs, and what obstacles they’ve found themselves faced with. I offer a space of non-judgment, empathy, and support in which clients can feel safe to open up and share their authentic selves. Upon meeting, I'll work with the client to create a treatment plan and goals, knowing that there is no one-size-fits-all plan. I most commonly work with those struggling with depression, anxiety, and family issues.

As a clinician, I embrace a strength-based, person-centered perspective, and I borrow from many different theoretical bases for psychotherapy in aiming to understand and meet the individual needs of each person. Julia Krebs is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) who received a Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling from the Gordon F. Derner School of Psychology at Adelphi University. Julia is licensed in NC and NY. Julia has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults, as well as structural family systems. Her clinical training and experience working on inpatient psychiatric units has provided her with the skillset to treat a variety of mental health diagnoses with compassion, support, and empathy. She has also been clinically trained in the curriculum development and practice of group therapy.
