I have worked in a variety of settings during my 20 years in the field of mental health. These include medical and psychiatric hospitals, substance abuse treatment facilities, college counseling centers and, for the past twelve years, my private practice. This breadth of experience is a great asset and allows me to feel comfortable working with almost any client issues, but I still find that a grounded common sense is my best tool as a therapist. I also feel that I am able to express my perceptions in a manner that clients are able to hear, understand and take into consideration.

If you are dealing with mental health issues that don't seem to be resolving with traditional weekly talk therapy. An Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) might be beneficial. An IOP can provide skills to help with Emotional Regulation, Coping Stragegies, Communication Skills, Interpersonal Skills, Conflict Resolution and Mindfulness. Often medications may be necessary to help with symptom relief, our practice provides psychiatric assessments and medication management for those needing medications.

My job as therapist is to listen, and learn from you and guide you toward better self-care, and to make the changes necessary to look inside yourself to see what might be holding you back from living a full happy life. As a licensed clinical social worker, I believe often times the things which keep us from moving forward are in our environment, such as toxic relationships, poverty, lack of education, drugs and alcohol, and past traumas.
