Therapy can help you understand how past experiences impact your daily life and relationships. By recognizing these patterns, we can begin cultivating lasting change in our interactions and relationships. Most of my clients want to improve their relationships, their sex life, or explore their identities or transitions. I specialize in sex and relationship therapy, enhancing intimacy and desire, improving differences in desire, and working through pain or dysfunction, particularly within the queer community. I also offer psychological evaluations to clarify diagnoses and collaborate on treatment recommendations.

Non-judgmental, compassionate care that is sex-positive and LGBTQ+ safe.
Infidelity? Porn addiction? Sex addiction? Trauma? All of these issues can be tough to deal with, but I can help. I have specialized training so that you're not wasting your time and money. Not just talk, talk, talk that gets you nowhere. I used evidence-based treatments so that you're feeling better soon. As a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT), a Certified Partner Trauma Therapist (CPTT), and a Certified Multiple Addiction Therapist (CMAT), I'm trained in many addictions, including substances. Most therapists aren't trained in all these issues. I offer EMDR, as well. There is hope. Together, we'll figure things out.

Activism, intersectionality and a systems approach are essential to my approach and I am passionate about issues that disproportionately affect women, the queer community and vulnerable populations in general.
Grief, trauma and systemic oppression have increasingly become visible and universal experiences affecting individuals, couples, families and communities. I began my career working with the survivors of intimate partner violence and individuals/families grappling with cancer and death. These experiences have informed my practice working with individuals, couples and families dealing with loss, grief, trauma, anxiety/depression, major life changes, chronic illness, abuse and relational distress.

As a queer therapist serving the LGBTQIA+ community, I'll follow your lead.
Are you a member of the LGBTQIA+ community and seeking a therapist who "just gets it?" Are you tired of feeling alone, scared, or unsupported as you navigate various changes, challenges, or identities? Has pandemic stress and grief has gotten to be too much? Are you stressed or concerned with one or more relationships?Perhaps you and your partner(s) have found yourself in a difficult cycle you are struggling to break, leaving y'all feeling disconnected and unsatisfied? If you answered yes to any of these, then you've made the right choice by being here. And I know this is hard, but you're brave. Just being here shows that!

I show up authentically to sessions as a queer, neurodivergent therapist.
Relationships are hard and the struggles we experience can be complex. We don’t always understand or have the words to explain what's going on in our lives- but we know we aren't feeling how we want to. The traditional approach to therapy can be intimidating and at times, hard to understand. In my sessions, we will build our relationship with humor and compassion. I believe that everyone's problems are unique. I'm here to help guide you to discover the best ways to heal in your situation. I am passionate in helping couples, families and individuals heal through reframing and normalizing your conflicts while creating new experiences.

If any of this makes your heart light up, then I'm excited to connect with you! I offer free 15-minute zoom consultations to support you in feeling a sense of clarity and alignment about our work- and am proud to offer affirming and compassionate care to LGBTQ/Queer folx and clients of all racial, spiritual, gender, sexual, and intersecting identities.
The tricky thing about healing is that it requires us to go to the places in ourselves that we fear the most. If we want peace, we have to walk towards the parts of us that feel anxiety and turmoil. If we want to feel worthy, we have to walk towards the parts of ourselves that feel UN-worthy. In our work together, you will fundamentally transform the quality of your life (and your relationships!) by learning to build your reality from a place of conscious awareness, rather than a place of pain/trauma. You will release the unprocessed wounds stored in your nervous system, making space for a happy, free, and dare I say, magical life!

I am also able to provide assessments and letters of support for trans and non-binary clients who wish to undergo gender affirming medical care.
Throughout life’s journey, we may find ourselves feeling lost, unsure of where to start of where to go. We realize that past experiences have shaped our worldview, and how we relate to and connect with others. We may recognize that there are patterns within our family system that we want to break, but aren’t sure how. When we have experienced trauma, we may find it easier to leave it in the past; however, these experiences can change how we think and feel about ourselves and our surroundings. Through therapy, we can learn new skills to strengthen our relationships and establish secure attachment patterns.

Every problem has solutions, therapy has you consider those solutions, which in turn transforms your life. I find that people labor too long over whether or not to start a cycle of therapy. I encourage you to explore your curiosity about the therapeutic process.

I am open to LGBTQIA populations.
After 25 years of working in the field primarily offering individual therapy, I am now most interested in group therapy. My co-therapist and I offer two groups currently. Both groups have openings and are ongoing psychotherapy groups. There is nothing quite like the magic of therapy group. Group can immediately effect feelings of isolation, loneliness and supports healthy connections. Group can normalize human needs for a sense of belonging and support during these most uncertain times. I am accepting new patients and I hope to keep my practice relational with a strong focus on couples, families and group therapy.

LGBTQ+ Therapists

Do LGBTQ-affirmative therapists receive special training?

Yes. Many therapists who practice LGBTQ-affirmative therapy have completed specialized training, either during their degree program or as continuing education, to learn the core principles of affirmative therapy and how to best support their LGBTQ clients; some have received certifications in LGBTQ-affirmative therapy. Prospective clients should inquire as to a clinician’s background and training to ensure a good fit.

Why might I want to see an LGBTQ-affirming or LGBTQ-friendly therapist?

Queer and gender-non-conforming individuals frequently experience bias and marginalization in day-to-day life. Working with a therapist who understands these unique challenges, as well as accepts and affirms their identity, can help LGBTQ clients feel safe and supported during therapy—allowing them to better navigate their relationships, mental health, and anything else that they wish to explore during therapy. It is important to note that many therapists can be effective in their work with LGBTQ+ individuals, even in the absence of specific training or background knowledge. The most important component in therapy is the alliance between therapist and client, and this alliance can exist between individuals with very different backgrounds.

How can I find an LGBTQ-friendly therapist?

You may wish to inquire about a therapist’s expertise with your specific challenges or concerns—depression, for example, or relationship strife—as well as their past experiences treating LGBTQ+ clients. Prospective clients may also ask whether a therapist has obtained additional training and/or certification in LGBTQ-affirmative techniques.

How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience with LGBTQ issues?

Prospective clients should feel empowered to directly ask therapists whether they have received training or been certified in LGBTQ-affirming therapy; competent therapists will be happy to explain their educational background and preferred approach(es) to help a client find the best match for them. Clients may also wish to ask how a therapist has treated clients with their particular challenges in the past and what they expect treatment to look like.

Are all the therapists listed in the LGBTQ directory themselves members of the LGBTQ community?

While therapists may choose to disclose their sexual orientation or gender identity in their profiles, the LGBTQ directory features not only those who have shared this information but also those who assert specialized training or experience in providing support to queer individuals, couples or families.
