I am a socially responsible practitioner, who respects and celebrates human diversity and difference. Trained as a generalist, I provide psychotherapy for children, adolescents, and adults. I specialize in working with emerging adults, ages 15-25, and individuals coping with various life transitions, self-harming behaviors, anxiety symptoms, disordered eating habits, self-esteem concerns, and women's issues. Additionally, areas of interest include grief/trauma counseling, depression, LGBTQ related topics, and eliminating self-defeating behaviors.

Many of us go through life pushing aside or losing touch with our feelings and needs. Over time, strategies we use to avoid uncomfortable emotions become unsustainable and exhausting. This is when we need to reach out for help and support. My clients often struggle with unresolved childhood pain and trauma, anxiety, relationship issues, depression, or just feeling stuck. I will help you learn new strategies for living so that you can move forward in the direction of healing, growth, and deeper self-compassion.

My clients are people who have had an emotional injury of some sort. They come with psychological pain seeking relief from the stress, anxiety, and depression it brings. They want the emotional pain to stop. Some common issues are grief, forced change, conflict, spiritual trauma, individuation, transitions, or seeing that you are not the person you want to be and desire to become your best self. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Ohio University and a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Kentucky. In addition, I am also certified in Clinical Social Work and Substance Misuse Disorder. I began her therapeutic career as a Mental Health Therapist in a male youth residential behavioral treatment facility, treating children of all ages. I have also worked in outpatient therapeutic settings, in-patient substance abuse treatment facilities, as well as many others.

Bridget Gray, LPCC-S. is a Professional Counselor focused on working with families, adolescents, individuals and marital/couple issues. She has experience in the treatment of grief and loss, anxiety, depression, personality disorders, attachment disorders, abuse/trauma and stage of life issues. She practices from a Narrative/Cognitive Behavioral Perspective, holding to the belief that the story we tell ourselves about ourselves holds great power in our healing and overall well-being.

My ideal client is the client that is willing to do the mental and emotional work that a therapeutic relationship requires, regardless of the issue they are bringing. These clients are desirous of change and growth and have some degree of motivation to make achieve them. They want to understand themselves better in order to develop and maintain healthy relationships with themselves and others. Hello, my name is Alexandria Carlson and I’m an LPCC living in Toledo Ohio. I love what I do and am passionate in my mission to help my clients discover themselves, find hope & eventually thrive. While there are commonalities to any mental health diagnosis, I also believe each person has their own individual experience and honor that in treatment. I have been working with those diagnosed with depression, anxiety, eating disorders & many other mental health problems for 7 + years. I utilize evidence-based practices & consistently monitor progress over the course of treatment.

I see counseling as a pathway that helps people discover their strengths and gain tools to better navigate anxiety, depression, grief, identity confusion, life transitions, or other difficult life circumstances. None of my clients are failures or broken because they choose to come to counseling.
