As an intern, I am learning who my ideal client might be, so I am open to meeting people across the board. Some of my particular areas of expertise and interest are with teenagers (especially those in the LGBTQ+ community) and those whose jobs in public service might make work/life balance difficult (such as educators or librarians). I'm interested in working on issues of anxiety, grief, life/career transitions, new parenthood, body acceptance, and more. I see my work as helping you become the best you can while understanding and navigating what might be keeping you challenged through a feminist, socially just, and systemic lens.

Life isn't always in our control (and no, I'm not a fan of that either). In therapy, we can learn to manage the things within our control - so that we are better equipped to contend with life’s inevitable ups and downs. Whether you're experiencing a big transition, stress from everyday life, a personal loss, or chronic issues - we can work together to make things easier. I have experience working with individuals with a variety of concerns & mental/physical health issues. I strive to make everyone - of any body shape/size, sexuality, gender, race, religion, or disability - comfortable in the therapy room (and in their own skins).

I enjoy working with diverse individuals from all walks of life as my experience has been eclectic. Working with folks who need to temporarily borrow some hope as they build themselves up is a welcome experience. I am energized by clients who know what they are looking for and equally interested in clients who are therapy first timers. I am fulfilled by working with LGBTQ+ clients, adults, trauma, OCD, complex anxiety, and clients with past incarcerations. I am passionate about holistic and integrative treatment! I am a supervising clinical psychologist, and am passionate about helping people overcome obstacles in their lives, particularly those stemming from traumatic experiences and events. Life can be difficult and at times people need an outside source of support. Through a collaborative approach, the focus at Next Direction is developing skills and insight that help the client navigate and resolve the issues that brought them to counseling. Because clients need to feel comfortable with the counselor they select, Next Direction Counseling offers an initial phone consultation to discuss your counseling goals and answer any questions. Kristin Camorlinga, LCPC, received her Masters in Counseling from Loyola University in 2012. She specializes in working with children, adolescents and their families and has been doing so in different capacities since 1995. She has counseled bilingually in many settings including three schools, a domestic abuse shelter, two non-for-profits and two community public health agencies. She is passionate about helping people overcome mental health difficulties so they can reach their greatest potential and live their best life.
