I also work with individuals struggling with histories of trauma such as sexual, physical or emotional abuse. In addition, I help men who struggle with compulsive sexual behaviors, anxieties, depression, and/or obsessive thoughts. I encourage clients to explore their past in order to identify patterns that are affecting their current relationships and personal goals. Cecilla studied and graduated in psychology in her native country of Peru. After immigrating to the USA, she has earned a bachelor's degree in Psychology. She has completed AMO academy's required training and evaluation and was awarded the title of Master Hypnotherapist certification. Currently, Cecilla is pursuing her master's degree in Clinical Psychology. She believes in focusing on guiding the client to find the root cause of the mental difficulties and working together to meet desired goals.

With over 33 years of personal recovery from drug and alcohol addiction, I specialize in recovery from substance use disorders, pornography addiction, sexual/intimacy issues, self-image/gender, anxiety, and depression. Individual or relationship counseling available.

I founded New Sun Mental Health Center, Inc., in 2008. I am bilingual, English-Spanish. I am a registered Clinical Evaluator and Treatment Provider by the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD). I hold a Master of Arts in Community Counseling with a concentration in Marriage and Family Therapy program from Argosy University in Atlanta. I received a B.A. in Psychology from Pontificia Bolivariana University in Colombia. I am a National Certified Counselor (NCC) and a License Professional Counselor (LPC) in the State of Georgia. I also have a Master Certified Addiction Counselor (MAC) and a Certified Anger Management Specialist (CAMS-II).

My goal for each therapy session is to respect the client, allow them to be heard, appreciate where they are coming from, and help guide them through their struggles or issues. My approach to therapy is to utilize an integrative approach with clients. What this means is that I utilize different approaches for different people, as we are not all alike.
