A connected, healthy, and successful marriage is possible. If your relationship has been knocked off balance or off course, I can help. Feeling desired, loved, and secure may have been a reality for you in the past and you aren't sure how to find it again. Perhaps that type of intimacy has eluded you, despite trying over and over to achieve it. But, it doesn't have to anymore.

Throughout my experience as a counselor, I have noticed that our shame is the foundational and often times our biggest barrier to success. My approach is to help client's identify and replace these shame-based thoughts and become more aware of how these thoughts impact the way they see themselves, others, and the world around them. Once you can view your authentic self as someone that is worthy, goals can be clearly defined, progress can be made, and healing can be obtainable. While this isn't the only consideration in counseling, it is one of great importance.

The most important relationship that exists is the one to ourselves, but unfortunately, many of us give very little value and attention to this bond. Society encourages us to prioritize the needs of others over our own which has led to a severe disconnection to true happiness and desire. We have no idea how to pursue genuine fulfillment and so we operate on autopilot. We do what we have seen or what we are told to do. We go through the motions, but have no real connection to the lives that we have built for ourselves. It's okay to choose you. Increasing self awareness and self compassion can help you reclaim your joy and power.

Therapy should be straightforward, and lead to you feeling better as soon as possible. Depression and anxiety are not weaknesses- they are normal responses to stress and trauma, and there may be things we can do right away to alleviate your symptoms. I will create a space where you feel understood and accepted so you can safely explore whatever is troubling you, at your own pace. Your past will provide us insight about how you came to your present circumstances, but it doesn't have to define you or your future. I have flexible scheduling and will try to accommodate you. Note: My practice is for NY and Texas residents only.

Your purpose carries a potent energy that is unique to you. Sometimes we find ourselves giving that energy away by getting stuck or lost in self-sabotaging our success by holding on to limited beliefs and unhealthy behaviors.

What drew me to the counseling field was my passion to advocate for people who have experience trauma (relational, spiritual, physical, sexual, emotional, and more). I take an integrative approach, meeting you wherever you are in the process and tailoring treatment based on my extensive training in trauma modalities. I cherish this process and helping survivors heal. As a mother of two, I have plenty of material to pull from and am equally passionate about working with parents, especially those who are facing parenting transitions and blended families. With support, validation and humor, I can help make parenting fun again.

Relationship Issues Therapists
While need for human connection appears to be innate, the ability to form healthy, loving relationships is learned. Some evidence suggests that the ability to form a stable relationship starts to form in infancy, in a child's earliest experiences with a caregiver who reliably meets the infant's needs for food, care, warmth, protection, stimulation, and social contact. Such relationships are not destiny, but they are theorized to establish deeply ingrained patterns of relating to others. The end of a relationship, however, is often a source of great psychological anguish.
