My passion is working with couples dealing with relationship issues, communication, infidelity and intimacy.
I understand that starting therapy can be a scary process. I work to create an open and inviting atmosphere for everyone who walks through my door. It is important to feel like you have a "good fit" with your therapist, which is why I take the time to listen to what brings you in, hear your personal goals and explain what you can expect from therapy. It's not my job to judge, blame, or take sides. I will work with you to provide applicable tools and resources, identify your personal strengths and offer new ways of communicating to provide relief.

Prior to counseling, clients often report feeling lonely/alone, burned out, stressed in relationships, guilt/shame, overwhelmed, angry, depressed, use unhealthy coping (work, tech, infidelity/porn), "midlife crisis, imposter syndrome and/or people-pleasing", have intimacy or boundary concerns, having survived toxic families or have kept lifelong secrets.
I specialize in serving adults (21+): typically men 30+, as well as women and couples, in their mental, relational, emotional and integrative health. Clients are often entrepreneurs, tech professionals, leaders, athletes and business owners. They frequently achieve "success", yet privately struggle in other area(s) of life. I help men and women to navigate complicated and unexpected change, helping them improve the quality of their life: health, relationships and career, while pursuing authenticity and purpose. It is well-known that regularly practicing curiosity, honesty and agency are keys to exploring and living a vibrant life.

Some common issues that clients may find themselves seeking support for include: desire/arousal, sexual functioning, fetishes or other sexual interests, infidelity, gender identity and exploration, sexual orientation, sexual trauma, out of control sexual behavior.
Talking about sex, relationships, and intimacy can be incredibly difficult. Throughout our lives many of us have been confronted with fear and shame-based messages, inaccurate and harmful information, and often problematic ideas regarding sexuality. These experiences can leave us feeling confused or ashamed, ultimately impacting our ability to tap into our full and authentic selves. Exploring these issues in a therapeutic setting with a trained, sex-positive therapist can be life-changing. A sex-positive framework means that I affirm all consensual sexual activity (or lack of sexual activity) as positive, healthy, and pleasurable.

In my practice I work with a variety of matters, but primarily specialize in Complex PTSD, adverse early life experiences and working with couple's regarding issues related to vulnerability, intimacy, infidelity, and discord.
"We cannot undo our old mistakes or their consequences any more than we can erase old wounds that we have both suffered and inflicted, but through the power that memory gives us of thinking, feeling, imagining our way back through time we can at long last finally finish with the past in the sense of removing its power to hurt us and other people and to stunt our growth as human beings." This quote, by Frederick Buechner, speaks to what therapy can unearth. We can't "undo our mistakes" or "erase old wounds." We can live free, healed, courageous lives.

Intimate relationships can be difficult but when we learn how to truly be there for one another we enjoy greater emotional and physical well-being. Ongoing problems such as conflicts, disconnection and overwhelming feelings often lead to depression, betrayal, loss of sexual desire, poor physical health, and inability to resolve past traumas. When problems with our partner get to levels such as these intimacy and trust fade to arguments, loneliness and fear. With my assistance couples attain a level of security, commitment and intimacy not experienced before. I am also a Lyme and Tick-Borne Diseases informed Psychologist.

Openings for couples! Couples find themselves stuck in patterns that leave them feeling misunderstood, frustrated, far away from each other, and alone. These patterns might involve feelings of being shut out, attacked, unwanted, not being heard, or craving greater closeness. Protective responses such as withdrawing from the conversation (an attempt to shield from the pain of experiencing conflict) or pursuing a partner to change their behavior (an attempt to get a response and feel a sense of closeness) can leave you trapped in these cycles. It's time to get you two out of this agony. Come alongside us as we guide you.

Infidelity Therapists

How does therapy for infidelity work?

A skilled infidelity therapist will provide a safe space for clients to communicate their feelings and concerns. The goal is to be completely honest about what led to the cheating and how it has affected the entire family to prevent it from recurring in the future. The therapist will help the clients work on rebuilding mutual trust and respect and developing better communication and conflict-resolution skills. If the goal is to remain a couple, clients will learn the “danger signs” for their specific relationship, and they will make a renewed commitment to be faithful.

How long does therapy for infidelity take?

Recovery from infidelity can take time, and it can vary from person to person. Generally, a therapist will want to see the clients at least once a week for around six months. Then the sessions can be arranged as needed, depending on the clients’ individual needs. While therapy may end or shift to an as-needed basis, it can take up to two years or more for some clients to fully recover from infidelity.

How does therapy help the partner who was cheated on?

When a client discovers their partner’s infidelity, their trust in the relationship and in the life they had together may be shattered. They often experience mental health symptoms, such as anxiety, depression, grief, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). They don’t always want to stay in the relationship; they may feel ambivalent or may even want to leave. Therapy gives these clients a safe and healthy way to communicate all of their complicated emotions and concerns.

How does therapy help the partner who committed infidelity?

Infidelity often occurs when one or both partners’ emotional needs are not being met in the relationship. Therapy can help this client understand why they cheated and figure out how to address those unmet needs without resorting to infidelity in the future. This can lessen (but not entirely eliminate) the risk of repeated infidelity. Clients who cheat may also feel intense guilt about deceiving their partners, a sentiment that they can work through in therapy.
