You feel overwhelmed, misunderstood, you have a hard time living in the present, always looking back at what was missing, or looking forward to how things could be. You want to enjoy life, to be happy, and it is exhausting. Or maybe you don’t even know how you feel but you know it doesn’t feel good. You might know where these feelings started, a tough relationship, trauma, a difficult childhood. Or maybe the feelings seem to come from nowhere. You are surviving, but, it doesn't have to be so hard.

I have specialized training in PTSD and pre-marital counseling.
I provide a non-judgmental, supportive environment both in person and online based on your needs. I seek to understand your concerns for yourself or your relationship through the use of evidence-based practice and building trust and respect in the therapy practice. Therapy is a partnership where I have learned many skills, but you are the person who knows yourself the best. Growth is built on honesty and transparency and we will use strategies and techniques that aid in healing and clarity within yourself and with each other if you are working with a partner. You may feel isolated or alone or may be struggling. I am here to help.

Hi, I’m Cassi and I am a licensed mental health counselor with a focus on holistic trauma recovery.
Do you sometimes feel as though you are trapped in your own head? Do you feel disconnected from the present moment, unable to experience profound connection, relaxation, and joy because you are dwelling on the past or worried about the future? Have you “worked through” difficult past experiences in traditional therapy, but still feel as though your problems continue to linger? If you found yourself nodding while reading any or all of these questions, you may have unresolved trauma affecting your nervous system. Using specialized techniques that target the nervous system, I can help you release that trauma once and for all.

Welcome! Are you are looking for a safe space, with someone who is down to earth, direct and compassionate? Are ready to feel like you have more direction, peace and increased knowledge of who you are? If so, you are in the right spot. My clinical practice is grounded in the belief that we are all the experts of our own lives and we have the inner wisdom needed to create the life we want. However, many of us experience trauma, and other obstacles that lead to depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, chronic self-doubt and a loss of purpose.

Hello, my name is Matthew. Trauma occurs due to many reasons such as our occupation, abusive past, or it may be a single incident that has occurred ex: vehicle accident, witnessing a violent incident, also trauma varies for each individual. We accumulate trauma over time, we have been taught to stuff these down and drive on. At some point this becomes too much. I can work with you by going back and working through the trauma to help lesson the impact to your daily life. And we can work together to get you closer to living a happier life.

I specialize in trauma and am an EMDRIA Certified EMDR therapist.
As human beings, we all experience stressors throughout our lives and some of us endure traumatic experiences, which can lead us to feel hopeless and broken at times. Even in our darkest hours we have unique strengths that can be temporarily lost within the storm. We all have the choice and power within to find healing and to ultimately change ourselves and our situation in the process. When we cannot find the answers in the world around us, it is time to look within.

“Our scars can destroy us, even after the physical wounds healed. But if we can survive them, they can even transform us. They can give us the power to endure and the strength to fight” - Batman, 2021. After you've experienced trauma you live in a different universe, you see the world differently. Only what you feel is real. Traumatized minds are directed by emotions and misinterpret logic. I work best with those who are highly imaginative, creative, and ready to confront their past.

I enjoy working with individuals, in the areas of depression, trauma, anxiety, stress, grief, divorce, career, business, life transitions, and relationship conflict.
Asking for help is the best choice to make when you feel you have run out of options. Life happens to everyone and can feel overwhelming. But there is hope that your life doesn't have to stay the way it has always been. When life gets tough it is often helpful to have a person lend an open ear and heart while supporting you through your circumstances. Making the decision to come to counseling is often a tough choice to make. However, it will be the greatest gift you can give yourself. Choose to put yourself first today and give yourself space to process & heal by scheduling an appointment with our office.

As a Certified EMDR therapist, consultant and trainer-my specialties include recovery from trauma, addiction, eating disorders, anxiety, managing difficult relationships, enhancing performance among others.
Seeking help can be overwhelming, so many questions ... How do I choose the right therapist? Do I need therapy? What will it be like? Will this help me? Many share these understandable questions. My firm belief based on living life and working with others, is that challenging life experiences can be transformed into valuable life experiences. Something can be learned, even gained, from every experience. Painful memories can be reconsolidated and transformed. As I counselor, I make every effort to provide a safe comfortable space for you to explore your thoughts and feelings in a supportive, caring, and respectful manner.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for trauma?

Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?

Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?

Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?

It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
