From my time in the Marine Corps to life as a counselor, I've seen trauma and grief, personally, and with friends and family.
If you are feeling like the stress of life is beating you down, then you have come to the right place. It can be like you just woke up and realized that you feel lost, and you don’t know where to turn. Life can be overwhelming, and sometimes you just need some help. Life can bring us loss, trauma, and grief. It can be difficult and painful. These things can hold us back from being the person we want to be. I am passionate about helping people, and couples overcome the barriers they face and lead a healthy and successful life. I would love to come alongside you and help you navigate these difficulties. Just send me an email.

I am experienced working with anxiety, depression, grief, and suicidal ideations.
I know how exhausting it can be to feel as if you’re constantly treading water and I am here to help. Finding a therapist that truly understands you can be difficult, I am a firm believer that there is no one-size-fits-all approach. Therapy is unique to everyone and I like to think that my own personal experience in therapy has allowed me a unique perspective into what my clients may be going through. My goal is to help you take control of your own life, and I believe that I can be the person to help you!

I am a dedicated and compassionate psychologist with a specialization in historical and complex trauma, grief, and families who experienced medical trauma with their loved one.
There are moments in life when we may feel overwhelmed. We may have tried everything in our power to overcome challenges and feel stuck. When we continue to face difficulties we may not realize the impact the stress has on our relationships, work life, finances, or overall health. In our time together we can examine the influences in your life including sources of trauma and societal pressures. We will incorporate your values and coping skills. Most importantly, we find hope for you to live a life that is meaningful for you.

I am trained in evidence-based approaches including Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) a therapy method used to treat anxiety, addiction, grief and loss, and PTSD.
My clients would describe me as competent, easy to talk to and compassionate. I am passionate about creating an environment where you can feel safe and heard. Carl Rogers once said, “We think we listen, but very rarely do we listen with real understanding, true empathy. Yet listening, of this very special kind, is one of the most potent forces for change that I know.” I believe that therapeutic work is most helpful when you can sense that you are working with a therapist who genuinely cares and will listen. From that foundation, there will also be space for you to reflect and receive insight that will aid in meeting your goals.

Grief is a normal response to loss, but sometimes we just need a little help navigating through it all. Are you ready to begin to better understand and begin dealing with your issues of grief and loss? Are you feeling stuck and unable to move forward? Then take the first step and call so that we can begin working together on your journey towards restoration and healing. It takes time, energy, commitment, and effort, but I believe reaching out and getting the help and the tools that you need is the best investment you can make in yourself.

Grief Therapists
How long does therapy take for grief?
There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.
When should you seek therapy for grief?
Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.
Can grief be managed without therapy?
Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.
What happens if grief is left untreated?
Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
