Congratulations on taking the first step in order to heal and improve your quality of life. My deepest passion is to utilize my experience and education to assist others with healing so that they can move from existing to living. We all suffer from different forms of trauma, and if left unaddressed it could negatively impact the quality of our lives and relationships. I work with children, adolescents, adults, and families of all different races and ethnicities. In order to assist my clients with the healing process; I provide a safe, warm, non-judgmental, and supportive environment so that the healing process can truly begin.

I am a Catholic Christian therapist who specializes in Autism, ADHD, Anxiety, Depression and Trauma. With over 25 years of experience in the mental health field, I approach therapy from the perspective that you are the expert in your life and my role as your therapist is to gently guide, support and provide you with the tools that you need to overcome the challenges that you face. We all experience struggles in life and finding the right supports is essential to progress and healing. My hope is to be that support for each and every one of my clients.

Sometimes, life presents us with painful experiences that can leave us feeling overwhelmed. These unresolved and unhealed wounds can hinder our ability to move forward and live an empowered life. In therapy, my goal is to provide you with a safe space to examine and remove unhelpful patterns from your past, and allow for transformational healing to occur. I incorporate what I have learned from my experience as a clinician at multiple residential eating disorder treatment centers as well as a residential PTSD/trauma treatment center.

“I should have quit this a long time ago.” You think back all those years ago when you thought you’d kick the habit soon. You never imagined you’d still be so absorbed in sex and hiding it from everyone, all these years later. It’s a terrible thing, to be two people: the healthy one that everyone knows and the addicted one you hide inside. The line gets blurry, and you dread the day that all this stuff breaks out and hurts the ones you love. Or maybe that’s already happening? You’re determined to not accept that it’s out of control, but in this moment you are facing the reality of needing help.

I love to work with those that have been hurt or isolated. I appreciate being able to walk along side of someone who wants to face their trauma. I work with foster families or adopted children as well. I have had experience working with the Deaf community for over a decade and knows American Sign Language and Mexican Sign Language.

I believe that healing is possible no matter how deep the wound. Sometimes all we need to do is take a step of faith into the unknown and enter into a safe space where we can “let go” and learn who we are amidst our pains or struggles. I approach healing from a holistic perspective by addressing how the body, mind and spirit are impacted by our past trauma and wounds. I offer tools for learning how to self-regulate the nervous system, thus allowing the body and mind the freedom to heal. Faith is also important to me, and I welcome the opportunity to integrate a faith-based approach to therapy if you as the client prefer that.

It can be very difficult to take the first step to seek counseling. My intent the moment you walk through the door is for you to feel safe, cared for, listened to, and above all, understood. I am not here to judge or condemn. We all have our stuff. Life gets messy. Life can be complicated. We all need help. I am a people person, which means you have value, simply because you are. I am empathetic, I listen, I am real, and I can help.

I’m ready to help you reach your goals and provide the support you need. I work collaboratively with teens and adults to create goals, build tools and get to the depth of the situations and wounds that can be triggers. I specialize in treating trauma/ptsd, mood issues including anxiety, depression and stress, as well as overall support for life/relationship concerns.

My clients have often expressed how easy and comfortable it is to open up to me even in the most difficult situations. Through my experiences of working with women and young adult groups, being a mom of four, and growing up in a large family I have developed a gift of connecting with others. I am passionate about working alongside my clients to make sure they feel safe, supported, and gain self-worth. My counseling approach is holistic, keeping each client’s physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual needs (when appropriate) into consideration throughout treatment.

I am an EMDR therapist, who is passionate about helping children, adolescents, and adults of all ages overcome the challenges of life, no matter how big or small. As a military spouse of 10 years, I have lived and raised a family in the US and internationally. I empathize with the many challenges of raising a family in chaotic times. I also understand the pressures a small business can bring, as I formerly owned and operated several businesses, employing as many as 30 people. I am a proud wife and a mother of three, having been married for almost 30 years. I know life is busy and chaotic.

I have expertise working with trauma, eating disorders, faith, depression, anxiety, relational conflict, and low self-esteem. I also have experience with clients impacted by neurosocial disorders (ie Autism). My goal in therapy is to walk alongside my clients through past and present difficulties in order to help them experience growth, healing, and freedom. Hello! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) for over 20 years. I earned my Masters degree from Oakland University in Michigan. I lived in Michigan most of my life, until 7 years ago when we moved to Arizona. I have a large family with 6 kids (4 adopted) and way too many dogs and cats. I love being outside camping, on the water or stargazing. I have been married for 33 years, so I understand the struggle and beauty in relationships.
