I utilize a gender affirmative approach when working with children, adolescents, adults, and families. I am a GEI Certified Member of the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH) and routinely follow the WPATH Standards of Care in my clinical practice. I am able to provide local and national resources to assist you and your loved ones with support while exploring your gender expression and identity.

Every now and then life can sure throw some curveballs. From everyday stress to life changing events, things at times can seem to become a little more difficult to manage. If you or someone you love is going through a difficult time please feel free to contact me. I have day and evening availability to help meet your needs. My background includes helping children and adolescents (ages 5-18) learn how to process and cope with various types of trauma such as family separation, abuse, pregnancy, and anxiety. I also work with adults and couples who are affected by stress, anxiety, and grief.

My approach to helping is based on my client's perspective rather than my own. I contend that appreciating and respecting the client's experience for what it is, is essential to productive therapeutic growth. I view counseling as a highly personal and subjective experience, where developing an empathic, connected and trusting relationship is imperative; it is through the safety of this connection that clients can work toward positive change. While I have had extensive experience working with a wide variety of clients, my specializations include women's issues (including domestic violence and trauma), relationships, GLBTQI issues, pregnancy/infertitility issues, internet addiction and couples work.

Challenges are a common occurrence in our day-to-day lives, more times than not, they seem overwhelming and discouraging but, navigating through them is possible and attainable. At Auravia Holistic Therapy, we believe when each person is viewed, treated, and nurtured as an entire entity they are able to heal, thrive, and live a more fulfilling life. My hope is to provide you with a safe place to work on whatever symptoms or concerns you are currently dealing with. I have been in the field for over 15 years and have worked with an array of populations. My experience is in the areas of trauma, PTSD, ADHD, adolescents (at-risk youth), relationship issues, divorce, and law enforcement issues. In addition, I have experience working with veterans to provide a second opinion and/or assessment in support of their VA Disability claims.

I've been a therapist for over 40 years and thoroughly enjoy my work. I understand the personal nature of therapy and the difficulty it takes to ask for help when already feeling overwhelmed and vulnerable.
