My hope is to provide you with a safe place to work on whatever symptoms or concerns you are currently dealing with. I have been in the field for over 15 years and have worked with an array of populations. My experience is in the areas of trauma, PTSD, ADHD, adolescents (at-risk youth), relationship issues, divorce, and law enforcement issues. In addition, I have experience working with veterans to provide a second opinion and/or assessment in support of their VA Disability claims.

I am a licensed professional counselor providing virtual, online sessions. I provide help navigating the challenges of life. My approach is mindful and collaborative; we work together toward your goals by honoring your mental, physical and spiritual self. My areas of expertise include mindfulness, meditation, self care, relationships, cognitive and emotional adaptation, addiction, codependency, anxiety, grief, and spirituality.

Are you looking for assistance with navigating your gender journey? I work with a variety of presenting concerns, however my specialization is working with trans or gender diverse individuals. I utilize a gender affirmative approach when working with children, adolescents, adults, and families. I am a GEI Certified Member of the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH) and routinely follow the WPATH Standards of Care in my clinical practice. I am able to provide local and national resources to assist you and your loved ones with support while exploring your gender expression and identity.

My approach to helping is based on my client's perspective rather than my own. I contend that appreciating and respecting the client's experience for what it is, is essential to productive therapeutic growth. I view counseling as a highly personal and subjective experience, where developing an empathic, connected and trusting relationship is imperative; it is through the safety of this connection that clients can work toward positive change. While I have had extensive experience working with a wide variety of clients, my specializations include women's issues (including domestic violence and trauma), relationships, GLBTQI issues, pregnancy/infertitility issues, internet addiction and couples work.

I believe in the power of therapy to help people escape the grip of the trauma: I work with survivors of childhood sexual abuse, domestic violence, abusive relationships, rape and sexual violence, terrorism, and political violence. I understand that making a commitment to yourself through psychological therapy is a significant and important step for many people.

Every now and then life can sure throw some curveballs. From everyday stress to life changing events, things at times can seem to become a little more difficult to manage. My background includes helping children and adolescents (ages 5-18) learn how to process and cope with various types of trauma such as family separation, abuse, pregnancy, and anxiety. I also work with adults and couples who are affected by stress, anxiety, and grief.

While reaching out for help can feel scary, please know that in therapy you have a lot of control and I work hard to help you feel safe. My clients often prefer the flexibility that video visits offer. Typically my clients are living stressful lives, may have a history of trauma, or be feeling overwhelmed. In particular, I'm experienced in working with people living with anxiety, depression, OCD, past trauma, people in recovery, caregivers and healthcare workers. Everyone is different, and I prefer to shape how we work together based on your individual needs and goals. I see clients virtually in both Texas and New Hampshire.

Nearly 2 years ago, my eldest child shared that she is transgender. I initially had no idea what to do. I was scared, and confused, even ashamed and guilty. I am a pediatrician who has worked with suicidal youth and understand the consequences of parental rejection, but I still struggled with my child's gender. Today, I know better. My child comes first and so does yours. I help parents love, accept, understand, and support their LGBTQ+ children so they can thrive and live out loud without judgment or limitations.
