Natural adaptions to trauma, injustice, and all of life's challenges help one survive, but eventually, people want to thrive.
I believe that the answers to people's problems lie within, and that I serve as a guide to facilitate the release of blocks and the emerging of one's wholeness. My approach is psycho-spiritual, collaborative, strengths-based, holistic, with a social justice lens; that is, I see you as a whole person, and believe in the interconnectedness of body, mind and spirit. I am interested in supporting you in healing wounds, coming home to your true self, detaching from old story lines and false identities. My intention is to create a safe, supportive atmosphere where acceptance and compassion play a role in the growth and healing process.

Areas of Specialization: * Depression * Anxiety * Transgender/Gender Identity Issues * Academic/Family/Job Stress * Career Development * Life Transitions(chosen and unexpected) * Queer/Gay, Lesbian, and Bisexual Identity * PTSD/Trauma Recovery * Addictions * Communication and Assertiveness Training * Spiritual Concerns * Relationship Problems.
I bring a warm and interactive style to my psychotherapeutic practice, which can best be described as "eclectic," as I believe that not one type of therapy is right for everyone. Pulling from psychodynamic (insight-oriented) psychotherapy, cognitive-behavioral techniques, mindfulness/meditation, and somatics (the integration of body/mind/spirit), I will tailor my practice to your individual needs depending on the particular issues you would like to address in therapy.

The hardest step to take can be simply acknowledging when things have become a bit overwhelming or difficult to manage on your own. Many people benefit tremendously from psychotherapeutic treatment. If you or someone you know is having problems with depression, anxiety, self-esteem, interpersonal relationships, work-life balance, grief/loss of a loved one, religious or spiritual concerns, LGBTQIA+ community, BIPOC, feeling disconnected, & Life stressors. You may find therapy helpful. My goal is to form a collaborative relationship with you that focuses on your needs, and restores meaningfulness and purpose back into your life.

People seek therapy because they want to have a more satisfying life, and have been unable to achieve their goals due to internal and external stresses. In my practice, I treat adults and adolescents who report issues such as anxiety, depression and interpersonal problems that cause them concern. I work individually, with couples, and in groups, depending upon my assessment of the client's need. My current groups are focused around relationship issues; I also work with writers experiencing creative problems, and students who want to resolve writing blocks in order to complete degree requirements.

I am looking to work with people who are not satisfied with how things are in their life, and ready to take control in order for their lives to improve. In addition to actively listening and problem solving, I coach individuals to activate specific techniques designed to be applied throughout their daily lives. It is in the hands of the individual to apply these skills in order to reach their goals. If an individual is not quite there, we'll work together to figure out what's blocking their potential.

I believe it takes courage to accept and address one's mental health needs. It is for this matter that I provide the necessary guidance and support for individuals to develop coping skills and tools that will help address the problems impacting their lives in a non-judgemental environment. I’m bilingual in Spanish-English and I have been working in the mental health field for the past 6 years. In this journey, I have enjoyed working with a wide range of individuals that struggle with anxiety, depression, stress management, life transitions, crisis intervention, substance abuse, trauma, and multicultural issues.

Utilizing somatic counseling and soul centered life coaching we can release trauma while staying focused on the future.
Are you a chronic worrier? A people pleaser? Do you hear yourself saying, “What if?” more often than you like? Do you feel the constant churn in your stomach or tightness in your chest? Is it uncomfortable to just be, and not do? Do you spend a lot of time in your head? Ruminating and spiraling unable to find your way out? Do you want to change but no matter how hard you try these patterns and behaviors persist? Then you've come to the right place. Together we can update this old programming that's been making your life harder than it needs to be, and create a life with more peace, less struggle and a gentler inner dialogue.

Were you the kid who people told: "You have so much potential. Why can't you finish your work? And, why is your desk such a mess?" Are you the adult who has moments of brilliance but feel like you can never quite get it together? Are you often overwhelmed by all of the things you have to do? Many of my clients say they feel like they're falling behind their peers and don't know how to catch up. Others say they feel like no one really gets them & they have to put on a mask to fit in. Feeling different from others is taxing. Layers of shame & self-doubt can build on each other.

It is a brave thing to seek out resources for healing and change. In my years of practice I have come to understand that the right therapy connection generates the power and possibility of cultivating our best selves. I work extensively with people who have survived trauma, redefined (dis)ability and come into LGBT community. I work with diverse relationship and family structures. I can help you identify what you most need and support you in building the strengths and resources to get it. In our work together we can create a space for you to survive and thrive.

Therapy doesn't have to be serious, it doesn't have to be formal, it just has to be about you. This is a chance to talk freely without worrying about other people's feelings or judgement. My job is to be an objective, calming, comfortable and validating presence. I am honored to hold this space for you.

I approach each client with the assumption that you are coming to me with an intention to alleviate discontentment or suffering. I see my job as helping you articulate your reasons for seeking therapy, to understand the source of your issues, and to find strategies that bring relief. My style is interactive, with an emphasis on caring and supportive feedback. I expect the client to establish the agenda for each session, trusting that the client knows best what needs to be addressed in any given session. I emphasize psychoeducation about the role of, and differences between, thoughts, feelings and behaviors.

Life Coaching Therapists

What can I expect from life coaching?

Clients and coaches will typically start by identifying the problem area(s) that the client hopes to address—then, the coach will help the client brainstorm potential solutions and explore concrete techniques to help the client attain their goals. Coaching is typically short-term and focused on finding solutions in the here and now, rather than exploring a client’s past. In addition to strategies aimed at the client’s specific concerns, coaches may encourage general stress management techniques such as meditation.

Can a life coach help treat anxiety?

Because the majority of life coaches are not licensed clinicians, they are not qualified to diagnose or treat anxiety. Anyone struggling with anxiety or another mental health condition should seek help from a licensed mental health practitioner. However, some coaching clients who struggle with subclinical anxiety report that working with their coach on other problems—such as career dissatisfaction or unhealthy habits—has a positive effect on their anxiety.

Can life coaching be done online?

Yes. While life coaching often happens in person, many coaches conduct sessions over the phone or via online platforms such as Zoom or Skype. Because life coaches are not subject to local licensing regulations in the same way that therapists are, they are able to see clients who live in other locations.

How long does life coaching last?

Life coaching tends to be a shorter-term process than therapy, though it does not always unfold over a specific period of time and is instead based on the coach’s or the client’s preferences. Coaching often takes place over three to 12 months but may be shorter or longer if necessary.
