My credentials/licenses are in Marriage & Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, and Chemical Dependency. My therapeutic approach is based on cognitive behavior research which has found a strong correlation between thoughts and behaviors. Additionally, I use the Narrative Therapy approach to understand emotions rooted in the client's life experiences that shape their strengths, fears, beliefs, values, and reactions to different types of stress.

I work frequently with 1st responders/military. They may have experienced challenges that are unique due to abuse or trauma. In therapy we learn that we have the tools within us to gain perspective and hope, that we can take good care of ourselves and those in our care. Ultimately, the end goal is that we get to a place where therapy may no longer be needed other than an occasional check in.
