One afternoon I told my wife that after another tour, I would be leaving the U.S. Coast Guard for a very different career. Serving my country and the men and women of the U.S. Coast Guard is one of the greatest honors and privileges of my life. After serving for nine years I knew that directly assisting and serving people is the life-giving work of my heart. I am a Marriage and Family Therapist licensed in Florida with six years of professional work experience. I am also registered with the state of Florida as a Mental Health Counselor. I have experience in helping clients with stress and anxiety, coping with addictions, trauma and abuse, relationship issues, family conflict, anger management, grief, ADHD, self-esteem, career difficulties, intimacy issues, & depression. I am trained in Trauma-Focused CBT, Solution Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Moral Recognition Therapy, and EMDR.

I am a graduate of Palm Beach Atlantic University with a Master's Degree in Marriage and Family Counseling. I have worked with numerous clients of all ages and backgrounds. Some of my experience in counseling include pre-marital counseling, marital counseling, and couples counseling. I also have experience working with adults and children who are dealing with different levels of trauma in their past and present lives. One aspect of counseling I am most effective with is working alongside families with children, both individually and collectively to form a more cohesive family whole.

Being a first responder to crisis and tragedies, you can only be the "strong one" for so long, before it begins to wear on ourselves and your personal relationships. You may be an attorney, a physician, part of law enforcement, or on the leadership team of your church. Who are YOU supposed to turn to? We work with many people in your same position, struggling with doing good for others, at the sake of your own family & self-care.

I have been fortunate to have the majority of my referrals come through friends or family of prior clients. The passion I felt when entering the field of counseling 20 years ago, seems even greater today. More individuals and couples are genuinely motivated to seek deeper levels of understanding and self-awareness. Most behavior and thought patterns are learned early in our development. Many suffer due to repeated behavior and choices, involving friends, family, and relationships. Change in the choices we make, often results in positively altering the way we feel, perceive, and live life. Authentic change begins within oneself.

I look forward to serving children, and teens who may be experiencing trauma issues at school with behaviors, or needing interventions for ADHD and other Cognitive, Emotional, and Behavioral Issues. I look forward to serving couples and marriages on their journey towards Restoration. Also serving those who struggle with Substance Abuse and their journey to sobriety, with the many therapeutic approaches, am excited about serving our families to ensure they become a better version of themselves Prioritizing the needs of our clients, showing empathy, and being present is always top priority for client care, safety and stability.

With close to 20 years of experience, Mary can assist you in overcoming many of the life challenges we all face. Her eclectic approach to therapy is very relaxed, non-judgmental, and respectful. Mary’s education and professional background in both mind and body provide a unique and effective therapeutic experience.
