Children often do not have the words to express what they are feeling or thinking. Traditional talk therapy alone is rarely successful in helping children process difficult life situations. At Lawrence Play Therapy, therapists can work with your child and family to bring healing. Play therapy involves children exploring their thoughts and feelings by using play rather than just talking. The toys are the child's words and play is the child's language. We specialize in therapy with children ages 2 - 12. We also incorporate family therapy, Theraplay, and EMDR when appropriate.

I offer daytime and evening hours. Do you have parenting issues that are frustrating you and just need some direction? Are you looking for pre-marital preparation or inner healing of past trauma? I also provide equine-assisted psychotherapy (therapy done by interacting with horses). Equine therapy is done offsite at a nearby location.

My name is Caleb Stephens, and I am an Intersectional Clinician. The reality of therapy is that it is inaccessible to most, and the majority of therapists gear their therapy around themselves, and not around the needs of the client, nor the layers of identity that exist. I am not a traditional therapist, as I am also an Activist, and the majority of the work that I do is Identity work. This is about meeting you where you're at, and I'm here for it.

Being accepted for who we are is one of our most basic needs as humans. With many pieces adding up to create a whole being, it is hard to find someone who can understand without having to explain every time we see them. Repeated explaining and misunderstanding can lead to a feeling of shame and uncertainty that can damage the therapeutic relationship before it starts. I work from a baseline of understanding to help create a safe space for my clients to learn and grow. Therapy should be a laboratory where you can experiment with how you interact with others and present yourself. You are the expert on you. I'm just here to guide.

Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP) is a different and fun way to reach children, adolescents, and young adults without the stigma of talk therapy. EAP is an alternative therapeutic approach that addresses mental health concerns and everyday life challenges by teaming up with caring therapists and horses. This type of therapy often reflects clients' verbal and nonverbal strengths and incongruencies while enhancing personal growth and development. This experiential, holistic approach works well with solution-focused therapy (SFT) and other evidence-based treatment modalities, e.g., ACT, CBT, DBT, and EMDR.

Almost everyone at times needs some support or coaching on their life journey. As a seasoned therapist I'd be happy to sit down with you and compasionately listen to your story and lend some hope and support. Bellatore offers individual therapy and nutrition counseling, as well as an Intensive Outpatient Program, for individuals struggling with eating disorders including anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder and ARFID. Our programs are limited to 10 clients to allow for highly individualized treatment.
