I have experience in treating domestic violence, sex assault, grief and loss.
Has there ever been something so traumatic that has happened to you that you can't escape feeling hopeless and helpless? You may have overwhelming feelings of anger, depression, anxiety or even guilt. Having a safe non-judgmental place to go and talk can give you a space where you can work through feelings of loss, pain and fear. The right person can help you find peace and balance.

Life isn’t simple, in fact it can be very messy at times, but within that chaos there is always growth. I believe that with every difficulty we face, we improve our own resiliency, learn about ourselves and our reactions to stressors and can make more informed decisions moving forward. I specialize in working with trauma, depression, anxiety, mood instability, adolescent support, sexual abuse, blended families and domestic violence.

Some of the issues that I specialize in are anxiety, trauma, depression, eating disorders, domestic violence, and issues affecting a family's daily functioning and happiness.
Do you feel like your family is living in chaos? Is your child or teen struggling with school? Peers? With anxiety? I offer a strength-based and collaborative approach while working with children, teens, adults, and families. I would be honored to help you and your family learn the tools to make and maintain the changes needed to live the life you want to live. Although many therapists, including myself have a reduced fee, services are still not financially accessible for many families. I supervise Master's level interns with a sliding scale between $65-$25 per session. Everyone should be able to access mental health care.

I specialize in anxiety and depression, and relationship issues including domestic violence.
Have you ever felt anxious or down, and you’re not sure where to turn to next? By considering the idea of therapy, you’ve already taken the first step. I became a therapist because I know how meaningful it is to have a safe space where you can explore your feelings, a place that’s completely dedicated to you. I believe in meeting people where they are at, and using your own values as a guide to living the most fulfilling life for you. A life where you can show up authentically, and navigate your mental health struggles and relationships with confidence.

I have a strong passion for supporting survivors/victims of crimes, including domestic violence and sexual assault.
My approach includes blending Eastern and Western somatic modalities with cognitive and transpersonal counseling psychology. With a strong focus on mindfulness, this process allows you to become aware of your thoughts, feelings, and sensations and how they manifest in your body. Somatic psychotherapy differs from traditional psychotherapy in that it explores and relies on the wisdom of the mind-body-spirit connection as a powerful gateway for healing, expanding awareness, and developing resilience.

I provide counseling for individuals, couples, and families struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma/abuse, body-image & eating disorders, relational conflict/distress, life transitions, grief, and place-of-worship hurt.
While life is filled with wonderful and difficult aspects (and everything in-between), walking through those more difficult parts can leave one feeling frustrated, overwhelmed, and isolated. Having a secure and confidential space to grieve, process changes, and make sense of your story can be incredibly healing during these times. My heart as a therapist is to be a secure person who welcomes and honors all parts of you, to walk alongside you in your hurts and hopes, and to empower you with the confidence and tools to carry with you through life. With a warm and welcoming environment, we can explore, grow, and heal together.

Hello! If you take care of others and often feel anxious and burned out, you're in the right place. I help socially-aware helping professionals who feel resentful and overwhelmed at work and at home to feel appreciated, grounded, and confident. We accomplish this by deep self-reflection and setting healthy boundaries. You may have an overloaded to-do list and feel unappreciated by your loved ones. Growing up you may not have had great role models for emotional repair so you learned how to wear a smile and "move on." Sometimes these old pains resurface but you don't know how to process and heal so you can react with irritability.

Domestic Abuse Therapists

What are the most effective ways to recover from domestic abuse?

Leaving an abusive relationship requires tremendous courage, so survivors in treatment should recognize that they have already completed the most important step. Still, the trauma of physical or emotional abuse can be difficult to process and overcome. Therapy can help survivors process trauma, grief, and difficult emotions, treat relevant mental health symptoms, and create a new framework for boundaries and relationships in the future. For some, support groups can also be an invaluable outlet for healing.

When should an individual seek help for domestic abuse?

Victims of intimate partner violence should seek help immediately. It can take substantial time, planning, energy, and courage to leave an abusive relationship, but starting the process—by seeking therapy, calling the domestic violence hotline, or simply confiding in a loved one—will help them get there. Those who have left abusive relationships but haven’t sought treatment can also greatly benefit from therapy to process and heal from the experience.

What are the consequences of staying in an abusive relationship?

Remaining in an abusive relationship has serious repercussions. In addition to the ongoing threat of physical danger and emotional abuse, research shows that intimate partner violence is associated with a range of mental health disorders including depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety, and substance abuse. Therefore it’s important for individuals in an abusive relationship to seek help as soon as possible.

How can you get domestic abuse treatment for someone else?

It can be very complicated to identify and leave an abusive relationship; barriers include the threat of violence, financial instability, and family pressures. Those concerned about a loved one in an abusive relationship should talk to them about the situation, provide them with resources such as the domestic violence hotline, and introduce the idea of seeing a therapist due to their concern for the person’s safety and well-being.
