During the recent time of shelter in place, we found a need to be connected to others more than ever. For most people, the pandemic increased anxiety, loneliness and stressed our personal and family resources. Many experienced echoes of past trauma that interfered with their present relationships. When anxiety and anger begins to surface, often,the depth of the pain, anger or frustration doesn't make sense. Sometimes it is sadness from grief or a loss from the past or fear of imminent loss. Having grown up in a military family, I understand a lot about adjusting to change and starting over.

Ashley is a Kentucky Board Certified LCSW Supervisor who has been in the role as a senior therapist for a decade. She is the owner of The Delta Group which specializes in telehealth services with a focus on: Trauma Related Disorders (including Racial Trauma), Anxiety, Depression, Personality Disorders, Adjustment and Transitional Concerns, Parenting Challenges, and LGBTQIA Issues.

As an older queer Jewish woman, I love working with other LBGTQ and straight women and men who are ready to make changes in their lives. I understand what it feels like to be hurt by people you love or to be unable to find peace within yourself. So you're in pain or suffer from anger, or shamed, let me help you help yourself. You can learn to regulate your emotions and change the way you think about yourself and interact with others differently. I know this is difficult as I have had to do this too. I have many years of experience working with early childhood trauma and severe, persistent mental illness, varying from ages of 5 years to 70+. I work through an Existential foundation, to help those I work with seek meaning and purpose, with skills built from experience with Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and Cognitive Behavior Therapy, all within the context of a trauma-informed approach.

Many of us find ourselves vowing to raise our children without the pain we experienced in our own childhoods. Despite this deep commitment to ending destructive family cycles, we may find ourselves repeating old patterns with our own partners and children. We may have lost touch with our own inner child and creative center along the way. I am non-binary transwoman and my pronouns are she/they. I've been practicing for 14 years. I've worked with clients across the life span and from many varied backgrounds. My areas of expertise are gender and sexuality, particularly LGBTQ issues, and trauma. I have been an advocate and educator as well as a member of the LGBTQ community for over 30 years.

I specialize in working with grief, loss, and trauma and also have experience working with anxiety disorders, substance use disorders, depression, and relationship issues. I take a compassionate, non-judgmental approach to therapy and enjoy relating to and uncovering a person’s highest self. In my work with clients, I draw from mindfulness-based therapies such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy as well as from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Buddhist Psychology, and Existential approaches. Additionally, I am trained in EMDR, an evidence-based treatment for trauma.

I specialize in dealing with issues regarding relationship stress, sexual challenges, sexual orientation, gender identity, communication, life transition, depression, anxiety, hopelessness, problem solving, conflict resolution, divorce, and loss. I really enjoy working with LBGTQIAP, Consensual Non-Monogamy, and Kink Relationships and Individuals. Or, it can have us living in a world of caution lights where we fearfully drift through them, unaware of the present or future, or vigilantly white knuckling our way, just existing and just “getting through” each day. How we come to terms with the past, forgiving our mistakes and others’ faults can catapult us into a more peaceful and fulfilling life.
