Life can be overwhelming and stressful even in happy moments and with positive changes. We all go through different stages of life and many types of changes that we may need some help navigating and guidance through. I am passionate about helping my clients clearly identify the issues/ concerns they're struggling with and develop a plan to appropriately and in a healthy way cope with issues either as an individual or couple.

In our work together, you will learn how to relate to yourself and the painful realities of life skillfully. To begin, I'll support you in slowly turning attention inward while remaining grounded and open. From this connected space, we'll inquire into the thoughts, behaviors, emotions, and sensations that color your experience of life. Naturally, unresolved trauma and unacknowledged grief will call attention to themselves. We'll meet them together, with genuine curiosity and compassion. Insights emerge both spontaneously and gradually when relating in this way and 'the work' begins to feel more authentic, enjoyable, and healing.

I have thirty years experience in private practice. My background is primarily in philosophy, dialogue and self-inquiry, in ‘ontology’(what has to do with being a self), in religious and spiritual traditions, and transpersonal psychology. I regard teachings that see human problems and suffering as part of our conscious development as more accurate and more helpful than disorder-based theories prevalent in modern medicine and modern psychology. They are more effective because they help us see the source of our problems with a depth that enables us to grow towards the health and fulfillment we innately long for.

I provide holistic counseling and specialize in grief and loss, life transitions, trauma, anxiety, and depression. I offer support in a safe and comforting environment to those who may be struggling or wish to explore more about themselves. I believe unprocessed trauma is often at the root of many mental health symptoms. One may develop coping mechanisms that helped them make it through traumatic experiences that they find no longer serve them. There is no shame in this, I think this shows the human spirits ability to protect itself. Processing and integrating trauma is a large part of the work on the path towards healing.

My clients come from a variety of backgrounds, but often find themselves in the helping profession. Teachers, nurses, veterinarians, and EMTs, those who have a habit of putting others' needs before their own. My clients are often worn out, burnt out, and struggling with how to stay in their profession when they don't have energy or passion anymore. Many often feel guilty because they have a "good life" when you look from the outside and don't understand why they feel the way they do. At this time I an not working with children, however, I also love exploring parenting strategies and helping children succeed through family work

Life is full of difficulties, disappointments, and pain, as well as growth, joy, healing, and adventure, and sometimes we need help bridging those two things in our life. In sessions with clients, I am committed to creating a safe and supportive space to collaborate on healing and self discovery together. Within sessions, I meet clients with curiosity and without judgment as I invite them to be vulnerable, experiment, and take risks. Having experienced therapy personally, I know of the importance of gaining a strong, safe, and empowering relationship between therapist and client, and this is one of my biggest priorities in my work.

Everyone tells a story: "I am a success," "I am content with my life," "I am a failure," or "no one cares about me." If your story is increasingly negative, perhaps we should talk about it. I use narrative therapy, which helps you separate yourself from your problems and then conquer them. It's like rewriting your story; your problems become the villains, and therapy helps you defeat them. In addition to narrative therapy, I am also an EMDR Level I & II practitioner, a therapy which helps you to reprocess traumatic memories so that you are no longer triggered by them. Our practice is accepting new clients.

Our emotions and mental status are always intertwined with our physical health and need to be approached as a whole. I also believe that we are more than our mind/body selves. There are aspects to our lives that cannot be explained by traditional studies, and these need to be acknowledged, too.
