My perspective is that life is complicated and it's easy to get lost along the way as we face our own struggles like fear, insecurity, shame and worry. If we keep those struggles in the dark, they'll only take root and trip us up and make us start to forget truth. When I began providing therapy, I worked with children and families who had been victims of sexual abuse, rape, and/or domestic violence. I then spent several years working exclusively with adults with schizophrenia, depression, anxiety, and bi-polar disorder. I have been a consultant for the United States Air Force working with the military community and their families and have collaborated with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) providing crisis counseling for people affected by natural disasters.
