I have worked in the mental health field since 2006. I specialized in mood disorders, anxiety, crisis intervention, anger management, and relationship building. I also specialize in substance use disorder counseling. My substance use field experience dates back to 2011. My ideal client represents someone willing to accept their situation and find the solution to their addictive behaviors and mental health problems. This includes utilizing our comprehensive treatment programs and resources to set recovery goals, find support, and learn the necessary skills to successfully recover and maintain sobriety.

My ideal clients are individuals suffering from behavioral disorders (addiction and mental disorders), who are willing to get help through the treatment services we provide. They represent a person who requires resources such as learning to build the coping skills necessary to better manage their conditions and maintain sobriety long-term.

Undoubtedly the human condition is complex. However, I have found that individuals across cultures have an innate tendency to think in unhelpful ways and engage in acts of self-defeat, even despite their best efforts not to! Common self-defeating behaviors that I help others with include: avoidance/decision conflicts, isolation, procrastination, passive and/or aggressive communication, substance, sex, gambling, technology addiction. Self-defeating behaviors are often closely linked to unhealthy negative emotions that you may also be experiencing such as: depression, anxiety, anger, guilt, shame, hurt, envy, and jealousy.

I have been a Licensed Psychologist in Massachusetts since 1996 and recently returned to my home state of New Jersey. I bring a wealth of knowledge, experience and skills in counseling people with mental health, substance abuse, and relationship issues. I practiced in mental health outpatient clinics, substance abuse clinics, and in group practices. I work with individuals, couples, families, different age groups, and people from various backgrounds. I work with different issues and utilize different methods. I have a special interest in doing Couple Therapy and Substance Abuse Treatment.
