I am a licensed psychologist, PsyPACT member, and former adjunct faculty of Craven Community and Lenoir Community College. I work under the umbrella of Alpha Neurobehavioral Clinic in Jacksonville, NC. I help individuals ages 20 and older to manage conditions such as generalized anxiety, health anxiety, depression, adjustment disorders, panic attacks, PTSD and emotional eating. I also help individuals with things such as communication skills, building boundaries, life transitions, being a military spouse, weathering the throes of peri-menopause and menopause, adopting a vegan lifestyle, grief and much more!

I work with children, adolescents, and adults utilizing cognitive-behavioral therapy and cognitive interpersonal therapy. I strive to develop a trusting and nonjudgmental atmosphere in which clients can grow to reach their potential and work through difficult times. I have worked in outpatient mental health for over 20 years with a variety of mental disorders including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, PTSD, attachment disorders, autistic spectrum disorders, ADHD and other childhood behavioral disorders.

Anne treats a variety of clinical disorders, including mood disorders, attention and focus issues, stress management, relationship/martial issues, domestic violence and child abuse, grief and loss, women’s issues, and cultural lifestyle issues. Anne has been active in providing services to active-duty service members and their families coping with domestic violence. Additionally, she has a passion for working with teachers that teach exceptional children or children with challenging behavioral issues in the classroom. As well as individuals coping with chronic health conditions to cope and process their illness.

I view myself as an eclectic counselor as I like to pull from various theories to best fit your needs. I mostly tend to utilize cognitive behavior therapy, mindfulness, expressive art therapy, and solution-focused therapy. I chose to become a counselor because I love to witness the growth that others achieve. I have a passion for healing and counseling allows me to be a part of others’ healing journeys almost every day.

I have had good success with working with the resolution of depression and anxiety with clients for over 35 years. I work with people who are trying to improve their marriage or reluctantly must decide another direction. Sometimes men are ambivalent about trusting therapy. While the national norm is that therapist caseloads are 70/30 % women more than men, my norm is an even split between men and women. Men do find they can make headway on stubborn relational or emotional issues. I also see adolescent boys as they make their transition into young manhood.
