My ideal client is a person or couple who knows that there are hard questions to be asked and is seeking a neutral, caring, and engaging third party to offer authentic insights and ask the hard questions. The goal is to help the client acknowledge, accept, and lift whatever is blocked and help validate what is seeking validation. This may be someone stuck in a pattern or a couple unable to see their strengths while navigating their weaknesses. An ideal client may want someone to hold the space and trust that the clinician will also know when to move forward. My ideal client is open to a variety of modalities for healing.

I help men with anger, PTSD, depression, or anxiety. I provide a safe place for men to finally address their pain while maintaining their masculinity. I have been working with men for many years and I think therapy is finally being seen from men to take care of their minds. For so long men have struggled in silence and now they can maintain their masculinity while letting go of pain.

The unpredictability of emotions we experience when facing uncertainty and change can sometimes leave us feeling overwhelmed and unsure of how to manage things. At times, feelings related to depression, overwhelming anxiety, loneliness, and overall confusion can just stop us in our tracks. Our identity and roles in career and businesses may change or need improvement. Our relationships can sometimes become strained struggling with communication and connection to the people and groups we must find solutions with to maintain healthy connections. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Marriage Friendly Therapist. I have been a pastor (6 years) and U.S. Army Chaplain from 1972-1997. I have two graduate degrees (M.Div. from Andrews University, 1975 and a M.Ed. from the University of Louisville in Marriage and Family Therapy, 1986). I organized and directed three Chaplain Family Life Ministry and Training Center and was the Director for the U.S. Army Family Life Chaplain Training Program at Fort Benning and Columbus State University. I have trained clergy, licensed professional counselors, social workers, and family practice physicians throughout the United States.

I have worked in the Mental Health field for over 26 years in both United States and Canada. I specialized in the treatment of trauma. I am a Certified EMDR therapist as well as an EMDR Consultant and EMDRIA Approved Training Provider. I have extensive experience in working with First Responders and military veterans.

In the wake of COVID-19, it's evident that anxiety and fear have become significant components of the emotional burdens we bear as we attempt to "navigate through life." I completed a Master's Degree in Couples and Family Counseling from the College of William and Mary in 2012 and have an array of clinically intensive experiences.
