Welcome! I'm Kate, a therapist licensed to see clients in TN and CA. I have a passion for guiding individuals through life transitions and adjustments. In order to reduce stress, depression, and anxiety I counsel individuals, couples and families, offering tools in our sessions to assist with conflict resolution, anger management, effective communication, self care, and grief recovery. Encouraging each person to take care of themselves physically, emotionally, and spiritually in order to live up to their fullest potential. Whether it's a new obstacle or something lingering from the past, a crisis, or a stronghold, biblically based counseling will rebuild restore and renew hope comfort and freedom from grief and despair.

Our experiences, both positive and negative, shape who we are, but we don't have to stay stuck where we are. I believe that the opportunity for significant change occurs in healthy relationships; and that healthy relationships are built on trust, mutual respect, and cooperation. In my practice, I seek to create an environment that allows a healthy therapeutic relationship to develop, which can then be a model that my patients can apply to their relationships outside of the therapeutic environment. What does it mean to be mentally and emotionally well? You likely know what being "unwell" in these areas looks like, but have you ever stopped to consider what "healthy" is; after all, that is the goal is it not? I would contend that Mental and Emotional Wellness can be summed up by two areas: 1. Gratitude and 2. A sense of personal Agency (meaning your have the ability to affect change in yourself and have control over the immediate future.) I absolutely love exploring these areas with my clients and helping them attain true Wellness in their Mental and Emotional Health.

I find that I tend to be helpful to clients who want to integrate spiritual growth as they journey to healing emotional pain and conflict. The counseling relationship serves as a therapeutic crucible, providing a safe and appropriately challenging space to explore ways to draw out and empower the self to experience abundant life.

I am a counselor with the Mount Juliet Counseling Center. I have an MA in Pastoral Care and Counseling and an MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Freed-Hardeman University. I am currently a PhD student at Tennessee Tech University in Counseling and Supervision and pursuing licensure as an LPC-MHSP. I am also a Board Certified Christian Counselor by the AACC, and a National Certified Counselor. I specialize in spiritual issues, grief, and couples counseling. My hope is that every person and couple finds safety and healing during the time we share together.

We are all works in progress, constantly changing and hopefully moving towards growth, and to be the best version of ourselves. Through therapy we can achieve healing and a greater understanding of ourselves and others. I offer a safe, encouraging, and holistic approach to therapy. My desire is to help support you in reaching your goals and move you towards a happier, healthier, and more fulfilling life. I provide therapy for individuals, couples, families, and adolescents. My therapy approach is personally tailored to each of my clients needs to help them attain the goals they desire.

My passion is helping hurting people. I consider it a true honor to walk alongside hurting people as they face relationship difficulties, life transitions, grief, depression, anxiety, trauma, addiction and other life challenges.

I have been in the counseling ministry for 30 years. I am dedicated to assist families and individuals within the community who may suffer with anger and depression and are looking for ways to resolve conflict and find resolution. I can help you with new communication skills, how to learn to improve emotional intelligence and gain spiritual well-being. I also have a desire to work with those who may be suffering with anxiety, grief or loneliness find joy and peace.

Many of today's problems are a result of the complicated, fast-paced world in which we live; a world that threatens man's emotional stability. Clients come to counselors looking for hope. Many times they feel desperate, pursuing what seems like their last option. They are looking for someone who is kind and sensitive, but also for someone who knows how to diagnose their problems and help them improve their situation. If this is you, I am your resource.
