My intention is to create a welcoming, depth-oriented and respectful therapeutic relationship. I lean toward a holistic approach that recognizes the wholeness of all persons and individualizes treatment. The value of genuine warmth, feeling seen and unconditional positive regard is not lost on me. My style pulls from multiple theoretical lenses, such as a Narrative, Somatic, DBT, Trauma-informed and Humanistic lens. Mindfulness and spirituality are intertwined in my work. From a multicultural lens, I welcome all genders, expressions, populations and sexualities.

Together, we use spirituality as a foundation for resilience and personal growth.
My journey into therapy began in my early years, shaped by the experience of immigrating to the USA as an infant. Learning English before my parents, I became a bridge between cultures, an experience that nurtured my empathy and understanding — essential qualities in my therapeutic work. My path has been guided by a calling to serve others, intertwining my faith with my professional skills.

I have specialized training in religion and spirituality, and am very open to exploring these issues in therapy, if this is important to you.
Seeking help is the first step in creating real change in your life. I believe that change is possible, and that therapy can lead to a greater sense of freedom and creativity, as you work through old patterns that keep you stuck.Together we will explore the underlying dynamics of your life choices and relationships - including those in your family of origin - with the goal of deep and lasting transformation. In my experience, therapy can foster healing of even longstanding personality and relationship issues, so you can move forward with a new sense of hope.

“Everything can be taken from us but one thing, the last of the human freedoms – to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s own way” — Viktor Frankl. It is my firm belief that we free ourselves to think and act in new ways when we are willing to embrace the exploration of the self and develop insights into the motivations behind our behavior. We will work together to build a shared understanding of the obstacles that you are facing, whether that means improving your interpersonal relationships, exploring your identity/sexuality/spirituality, strengthening your self esteem, finding motivation and success in your career, navigating overwhelming and traumatic experiences, or identifying maladaptive patterns that may be acting as barriers to the life you want. I offer both short and long term psychotherapy to adolescents and adults seeking assistance with anxiety, mood disorders, mood dysregulation, obsessive thinking, compulsive behavior, ADHD, substance abuse, anger, impulsivity, highly sensitive temperament, and psychoeducation related to psychiatric medication management.

I specialize in mental health and Christian spirituality.
Are you struggling with disconnection, loneliness, depression or anxiety. In an age of mass social media. In a time that is considered the most socially connected. Research shows that people actually feel more lonely than ever, disconnected and lost. Do you feel anxiety that is keeping you from following your dreams and holding you back? You do not have to go through this struggle alone. Therapy is a great way to work on you and becoming the best version of yourself. I would love to help you start that journey and walk through it with you.

I specialize in the integration of spirituality and psychology, and received post-graduate training in many spiritual and religious traditions.
Integral Psychotherapy, which is holistic and transformational, is a mind-body-spirit approach that deepens self-awareness and well-being. My approach is positive and supportive, bringing out our innate potentials for growth and healing. We shed the false self and align with our true nature, which is love. The Self-Inquiry Process is an experiential guide to awakening that can be used as an adjunct to therapy.

As a spiritually-informed psychotherapist, I listen for the ways that spirituality may be either a resource for healing or cause of trauma.
I provide therapy to individuals, couples, and families, both virtually and in-person. Many of my clients come to therapy to address self-identity and purpose, family relationships (couples, parents, adult siblings), spiritual/religious questions, struggles with self-esteem, acute and chronic grief, sexuality/gender identity issues, and a desire to find a life that is meaningful and in alignment with their values. Articulating a coherent narrative for one's life is a task of deepest import, and therapy, I believe, is a uniquely relevant space to pursue that quest.

The arts and spirituality at large inform much of my client-centered work.
Welcome! If you are queer, trans, non-binary, questioning, neurodivergent, kinky, poly, or otherwise inclined to defy mainstream narratives of mental health and well-being, then I may be the right fit for you. Amidst the hustle and bustle of the New York metro area, I offer an oasis of compassion, creativity, and self-reflection. I have several years of experience working as a body-neutral and LGBTQ-affirming sex educator, as well as working with queer and trans youth of color. I am especially proud to assist others in dismantling internalized forms of oppression and critically reframing their experiences with radical self-love.

As a long time practitioner of Eastern spirituality, I incorporate mindfulness and meditation into our work together. Rather than using a medical model, which seeks to diagnose and fix you, I seek to introduce you to your deepest truth, and thus guide you towards a true internal refuge. And mostly, I am here to help you experience more joy, balance and peace in your life.

Spirituality Therapists

What should I expect from therapy that incorporates a focus on spirituality?

Spirituality can mean different things to different individuals, depending on their experiences, beliefs, and life histories. Some individuals focus on strengthening their belief system, while others experience spirituality in secular ways, such as through meditation, yoga, or by spending time in nature. Clients can expect a therapist to help guide and grow their spirituality through any of these techniques, encouraging the individual to cope with the challenges they face and develop strategies to build resilience and purpose to improve their outlook in life.

What are the most common treatments that include spirituality?

There are several treatments that incorporate spirituality. Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT) helps a person examine and reframe their negative thoughts and behaviors. Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) focuses on emotional acceptance and psychological flexibility. Existential therapy is most often used to address anxiety, depression, grief, loneliness, apathy, despair, questions of identity, and feelings of purposelessness and existential dread. Transpersonal therapy focuses on a client’s spirituality and meaning in life and may incorporate techniques including meditation, visualization, hypnotherapy, dream analysis, and or breathwork.

Can therapy incorporating spirituality help atheistic or agnostic individuals?

Yes. For non-believers, spirituality can offer benefits including a greater sense of connection to others and to the natural world. An interest in spirituality may also spur individuals to pursue mindfulness practices, or to contemplate their purpose in life and how to achieve it.

How effective is spirituality as a therapeutic remedy?

Research suggests spirituality is generally beneficial for individuals. It is correlated with better health habits, such as less substance use, and an improved capacity to cope with stress and other mental health challenges. Increased spirituality can lead individuals to become more empathic and less materialistic, as well.
