Do you notice patterns of behaviors that you are unsatisfied with? Therapy is a significant step towards working through and facing life's most difficult challenges. I have worked with children and adults in a medical setting that includes outpatient care, oncology, and intensive care units. When practicing art therapy with clients, I am committed to integrating client-centered approaches and mindfulness. I want to create a safe space for my clients to express themselves and attune to their needs as they explore the path to healing.

Over the years, I have come to understand that many of our difficulties with work and/or relationships can be traced to some forms of disconnection internally and externally, sometime manifested as depression, anxiety, existential angst, eating disorder, or addiction. I view therapy as a continuous in-depth conversation with another person in order to mend past traumas, reconnect with self and others, and develop a new perspective on life. I will bring to this journey curiosity, compassion, knowledge, experiences, and a commitment to help you strive for a healthier and more balanced life.

Do you feel you are riding an emotional rollercoaster? Alternatively, do you feel like you are living in auto-pilot, going through the motions in life without finding much satisfaction? Or maybe you are experiencing anxiety, depression, difficulty coping with past traumas, relationship or work difficulties, or are just feeling stuck. Although we may find ourselves surrounded by supportive family and friends, we may still feel alone and isolated in our distress. Pain in life may be unavoidable, but you don’t need to go through it alone.

The approach I employ is informed by the view that psychoanalytic principles are radical in their nature, because part of the outcome aims at increasing one’s freedom from whatever constraining forces lead a person to embark on a therapeutic project. This is accomplished through a particular kind of listening to the patient's words and exploring the person’s history to locate previously unknown wishes one may then follow. Out of this can extend a life more creatively aligned with your singular vision.

It can be hard to find a therapist who feels like the right fit, especially when you are grieving, overwhelmed by work or family, facing a new challenge, or feeling stuck in repetitive patterns. My approach is strengths-based, non-judgmental and rooted in deep respect for every client. I am passionate about supporting clients through all stages of grief, including anticipatory, ambiguous, and non-death losses. I also work with adults who feel depressed, anxious, or struggle with life transitions, relationships, parenting, trauma, guilt, and shame.

My clinical work includes working with individuals and couples on life's transitions, intimacy and relationship issues, sexuality and gender, creative work and career.
The more you see your options instead of acting out of habit, the more control you have over your life. I focus on building a collaborative therapeutic realtionship; from this relationship the process of healing, change and growth occurs.

At times, it can seem hard to talk share about what is going on with your life. You may have a support system, but at times if can be hard to share your innermost thoughts and feelings with them. I know that sharing things can be hard because they may not understand, or they can be dealing with their own things, or not wanting to burden them. I get it. I know that therapy can provide a safe space. Opening up to a stranger can seem like a challenge, but this can also be a benefit. In therapy we can have the space to really talk about what is going on, in a non judgmental space.

Relationship Issues Therapists
While need for human connection appears to be innate, the ability to form healthy, loving relationships is learned. Some evidence suggests that the ability to form a stable relationship starts to form in infancy, in a child's earliest experiences with a caregiver who reliably meets the infant's needs for food, care, warmth, protection, stimulation, and social contact. Such relationships are not destiny, but they are theorized to establish deeply ingrained patterns of relating to others. The end of a relationship, however, is often a source of great psychological anguish.
