That includes addressing themes such as attachment wounds, conflict/conflict avoidance, differences in communication, infidelity, gaps in desire, low desire, difficulty communicating about sex, ENM, polyamory, etc. And to be explicit: LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC folks are most welcome. Life transitions often lead us to feel overwhelmed. While people close to us may be supportive, we may not always feel able to share with them our doubts and discomfort. Whether we’re holding our own or a loved one's sexuality or gender identity; navigating changes in our primary relationships, or reflecting on adverse experiences, having a safe space to reflect and process is invaluable. My practice serves adult clients who have struggled with anxiety, live with trauma or grief, or who experience the world as members or allies of the LGBTQ+ community. My approach is conversational, strengths-based, and results-oriented.

I am a clinical therapist who uses narrative psychotherapy as a model to treat and process trauma, grief, and relational issues. I work with adults and older adolescents, as well as couples, and use a person-centered eclectic framework with my clients. I have been trained in AASECT sex therapy and encourage any individual, couple, or those engaged in non-traditional relationships to explore sex-related concerns in their work with me. In every aspect of my practice, I use an individualized approach with the client to build a treatment perspective that is specific to their own interests, values, and recovery.

Using a humanistic approach free of judgment, Chatham will collaborate with each person served to help them meet their personal and therapeutic goals. As a queer-identified, polyamorous and gender fluid therapist, I value creating a safe space where multiple aspects of identity are welcome and opportunities for healing are abundant.

I work with all couples - married and unmarried, premarital and divorcing, heterosexual and same sex. I work actively to explore areas of dissatisfaction, identify obstacles to change, and find ways to overcome them. I offer to meet with all couples for a brief evaluation, designed to determine whether treatment is indicated and to quickly identify key problems, strengths and promising directions for treatment. I strive for the shortest course of treatment that accomplishes clients' goals. If a couple is in acute crisis, I make every effort to see them on an intensive basis initially until the immediate crisis is stabilized.

Most of our struggles are relational in nature. As a relationship expert, I will guide you toward healing your relational wounds; to step into the self-actualized, meaningful, joyful life you dream of. We all sustain traumas which shape our beliefs about ourselves, others, and the world. When we understand our protective strategies we can then update our narratives, unburden our traumatized parts, heal attachment wounds, and make room to relate through our highest self. We can learn new skills in communication, somatic regulation, mindfulness, self-awareness, and more fully build the life which best serves our continual growth.

Tarn was adopted and raised in Southern Vermont on a farm. She has always loved helping others so the decision to become a therapist came easy. She first attended Community College in Vermont before continuing on to earn a BA in Sociology from Smith College in Northampton, MA. Tarn then attended the Smith College School for Social Work where she earned a Masters in Social Work (MSW). She has since worked in a variety of positions throughout her career which have assisted her in becoming an eclectic therapist with a wealth of knowledge in several facets of social work and life.
