I offer individual psychotherapy, couples therapy, group therapy, counseling around the loss of loved ones through death or divorce, therapy for career changes, and group training experience for graduate counseling students.
My ideal client is open to the exploration of oneself through the ritual of self-reflective storytelling. I listen and help link childhood memories to insights through psychotherapeutic interpretation. My ability to draw from personal loss and experience helps me guide others through the sometimes painful exploration of the self. I work with individuals, often supplementing with group therapy, to help them recognize and understand the obstacles in their way.

I have 19 years of experience working in the mental health field in residential, outpatient, in-home, and hospital settings. The majority of that time has been spent working with individuals, children, and families dealing with trauma, abuse, relationship conflicts, depression, and anxiety, among other issues. My style begins with being person-centered. I don't believe there are cookie-cutter answers to life's challenges, so I begin by learning about you and what will best help you achieve your own goals.

Private executive therapy gets you un-stuck – from burnout, depression, stress/anxiety, anger issues, relationship problems, negative habits, perfectionism, trauma, imposter syndrome and more.
As an executive, you know life at the top can be deeply rewarding. And profoundly challenging. Business – especially at the top – is stressful. There’s never enough time. The choice seems to be 1) succeed at work or 2) succeed at home. Pick one. It feels lonely at work, but just as lonely at home. You’re distracted or even consumed with worry. Angry outbursts can happen. Loved ones may say you’re distant and not “present”. With concerns about cash flow, sales, employees, customers, competitors, the economy, partners and investors, worry is an under-statement. Sometimes, you wonder how long you can keep doing this.

Most of the time we can manage the ups and downs of life without extra support. Then something shifts, and it can feel like it all collapses like a house of cards. Quickly, it can feel like you don't even recognize yourself anymore. None of the skills you were using to successfully manage your life work like they used to. You're overwhelmed and at a loss for how to get unstuck. At times even the seemingly tiniest of changes can shake us to our foundations, and leave us feeling adrift; but change is often the perfect opportunity to grow.

Couples Counseling Therapists

Does couples counseling work?

Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.

When should a couple seek counseling?

Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.

How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?

The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.

How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?

The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
