I love watching my clients grow and become empowered by the work they are doing on themselves. I am on this journey with you as we utilize a technique or an approach that is individualized to you. I enjoy working with ages 13+ whether you are navigating through depression, stress, anxiety, suicidal ideations or you just need a safe space.

In a collaborative, client-centered professional approach, I use biblical principles integrated with cognitive behavioral and solution-focused therapy as interventions for change. This approach is highly effective because the client's emotional, behavioral, contextual, and spiritual needs are addressed. This approach can significantly help all ages across various issues achieve healing, reconciliation, and solutions related to various emotional and psychological problems. Those problems include child behavioral problems, family dysfunction, depression, anxiety, domestic abuse, and relationship problems.

I understand on a personal level, that working on oneself is not always easy. You must be brave, motivated to heal, and have the strength and self-awareness to seek help. If you have the strength to take these steps, you have the strength within yourself to address your issues and heal your struggles.

I have experience with adolescents concerns, as well as with blended, mixed, step-parent and adoptive families. I work to truly listen, to clearly understand, to explore issues collaboratively. My work is strength-based: let's find what is working and improve the areas that are not! In an easy-going and comfortable manner, I use brain science i.e. Brainspotting, Sensorimotor Therapy and Interpersonal Neurobiology (along with a sense of humor) to provide treatment of emotional and behavioral issues in adults, children, couples and families; including psychological assessments for both children and adults.

I have been doing individual, family and couples therapy for 38 years. I am an associate of the American Board of Medical Psychotherapists and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Professional Counselor. My graduate degree is in Counseling from the University of Wisconsin with undergraduate degrees in Psychology and Philosophy. My approach is eclectic focusing on cognitive behavioral, existential and problem solving therapy. I has been trained in transactional analysis and enjoy working with the Christian and spiritual perspective. I have a Lay Ministry certificate in Lutheran studies. I have studied eastern religion, philosophy, Yoga, Judeo-Christian ministry, and the paranormal.

I offer a safe, supportive environment and have found empathy, understanding and humor are important in building a therapeutic alliance. My abilities are well suited to people with a history of trauma and who are intuitive and creative. Whether you're looking for short term therapy or a deeper process, my skill level applies to both. Each person is unique and I anticipate and enjoy building a relationship that assumes collaboration. I then work with them toward activating their own healing potential, no matter the age. I work well with individuals who have had treatment failures in the past.
