I am a Mental Health Clinician seeking to meet everyone where they are in a culturally sensitive manner. I have nearly 20 years of experience serving populations of a variety of ages, orientations, economic classes, etc. My professional experience was obtained working in trauma-informed residential treatment programs and crisis intervention in Northern California. I am highly motivated to assist everyone with finding the strength they possess within. I celebrate diversity, value fairness, and advocate for mental wellness. I’m Dr. Kate Bautch (she/they), a licensed clinical psychologist and trail guide for people whose identities and experiences fall outside of the status quo (queer, neurodiverse, chronically ill/disabled and their families, ethically non-monogamous) and who need support navigating a path that is not the well-traveled trail of societal norms. Here you do not have to worry about educating someone on your experience, and the focus can be entirely on you and the support you need.

Hello, there! I treat a variety of mental health concerns, and I specialize in gender-affirmative care for transgender, nonbinary, gender diverse, and intersex people. You might be questioning your gender or want to talk with an experienced therapist. Perhaps you have come out & are finding dealing with other people’s reactions challenging. Perhaps stress has taken its toll and you are having symptoms of anxiety or depression. I can help you navigate these challenges to feel better. Working with neurodiversity is wonderful and I welcome all parts of your experience.

In my work with clients, I focus on mind-body-spirit reconnection when it has been disrupted by trauma or stress. I offer a soft space to land for children, individual adults and partners who have been in prolonged fight or flight post trauma exposure, as well as highly sensitive people who may be experiencing empathic stress. Here, I respect the unique language of your nervous system, the wisdom that lives in your body, and support you in fostering grounded connection to both. Together we'll utilize integrative modalities to process what is not you and create more space for what is, with a goal of inner clarity and embodied peace.

I believe therapy is a collaborative and creative endeavor, and provide a safe, supportive environment for you to explore your identity, relationships, history, and desired changes. I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help you create lasting changes, and am also influenced by Mindfulness, Narrative, Relational, and Systemic approaches to therapy. I am certified in the Triple P Positive Parenting Program and trained in Trauma-Focused CBT. I am also supportive and affirmative of clients of all sexual orientations and gender identifications, and can assist with issues such as coming out, homophobia, and LGBT relationship or parenting issues.
