It offers support and direction for individuals in crisis or struggling to function on a regular basis. We treat clients in the least restrictive environment which allows many to maintain their daily life and routine. Our staff consists of Licensed Professional Counselors and Nutritionists and Dietitians who specialize in the treatment of eating disorders. Clients are supported three times a week by using a multimodal approach consisting of Process Group Therapy, Expressive Art Therapy and Educational Nutrition Therapy. PMRC Treatment Facility, Treatment Facility in Philadelphia
“Located on approximately 10 acres in Henryville, PA, Pocono Mountain Recovery Center offers patients a rustic, peaceful environment where they learn about sobriety. Our intimate meeting rooms offer the ideal setting for group sessions and small group discussions. Patient rooms are semi-private and overlook an outdoor courtyard. We believe a patient's progress in treatment is hindered when isolated and that having a roommate leads to a richer, deeper treatment experience. Comfortable common areas are available for patient use during reflection periods and leisure time. The facility's dining room has both a cozy and family-like feel. Tasty and nutritious meals are prepared daily by our full time executive chef and his team. Our 9,000 sq. ft. Recovery Dome will be used for exercise and recreational purposes, as well as for meetings, special events and alumni gatherings. Other facility amenities include a summer time BBQ pit, picnic area, sand volleyball court, walking "Freedom Trail", state of the art indoor gymnasium and swimming pool.

Gayle V Logan, Counselor in Philadelphia
“I know it is necessary to feel comfortable and trust a person, who is listening to your experience. I know it won't happen if from the onset, thoughts about you are viewed, and treated by the therapist like everyone else. My approach to understanding relationship problems, whether it is with a child, parent, friend, partner or marriage is to interpret how the person experience it, because there is a reason for everything, and usually a solution. It may not be recognized, and a cycle of conflict continues, but that is when I will provide an invaluable service to you.

Anthony F Verdi, Psychologist in Philadelphia
“I take a cognitive behavioral approach to helping my clients gain personal insight and to make behavioral changes. Depression, anxiety, and relationship issues can interfere with problem solving. Together we can explore options, develop problem solving techniques, and coping mechanisms that will help you feel more in control of your self and your situation. My style is informal and relaxed. Ideal clients are those that are committed to making changes and who are willing to fully participate in the therapeutic relationship.

Claudia Listens, LLC, Clinical Social Work/Therapist in Philadelphia
“Whether you are seeking to feel better about yourself, be released from depression, enjoy more calmness and clarity in your life, or free yourself from self-criticism, you have come to a supportive place to make these positive changes. Current problems often have childhood roots. Talking about those experiences helps you to become more fully alive and present. No matter your preference for expressing yourself, be it in a group or in private. Both settings are effective paths to healing from past hurts and current problems; to feel emotionally and psychologically whole and alive. And both are available here.

Mark D Schenker, Psychologist in Philadelphia
“The primary focus of my practice for the past 20-some years has been helping people achieve recovery from substance abuse. I use a collaborative, motivational approach, rather than confrontation, and work with people on setting and achieving realistic and healthy goals for their problems. I believe, (as did Bill Wilson, the founder of AA) that there are many paths to recovery; each person must work on a program that reflects their unique needs and assets. I encourage people to explore their resources, their obstacles and their values in setting goals and in working a positive program.

Lawrence D. Blum, Psychiatrist in Philadelphia
“If you had a problem with your heart, you'd consult a cardiologist. For problems with your emotional heart, you should also consult an expert: a psychoanalyst, a mental health professional with extra training to help people understand what their problems are really about, especially problems that don't respond to simple solutions and advice. For the most effective treatment, kindness and understanding are essential, and so is extensive knowledge of human psychology, culture, and biology. Confidentiality and respect for personal experience, autonomy, and potential for change and growth are equally important.
